Sidney George "Sid" Wilson (born January 20, 1978 in Des Moines, Iowa, United States) is an American turntablist and member #0 for the metal band Slipknot.
Life and career
Wilson is notorious for his on-stage antics; he has been known to initiate fights during shows with Shawn "Clown" Crahan, and to jump into the crowd and setting himself on fire. In his interview on the Voliminal: Inside the Nine DVD, he stated that in the future he would cease the stunts for fear of being arrested and charged with attempted suicide for his human inferno act. He also said, "when it comes to jumping off stages, there have been too many close calls." He is also known for being sarcastic and says he suffers from 'organic brain syndrome'.[citation needed]Sid is the youngest member of SlipKnoT
Sid also tours as DJ Starscream, a name taken from the popular 1980s television show Transformers (of which he has the show's symbols tattooed on the backs of his hands). He is currently signed to Japanese/US label Nitrous Oxide (N20) Records and performs jungle music.[1] He has a big following in Japan, as most of his CDs are released there first. He recently collaborated with The Mad Capsule Markets vocalist Hiroshi Kyono on a song called "HAKAI (Deathtroy)" for the Death Note movie soundtrack,[2] a remix of the track also appeared on the Wagdug Futuristic Unity mini-album Nu Riot.[3]
Recently Sid Wilson has been working on his personal label Tuff Bong Records.
