==SAIMUN==
Hey mate you recenently quick deleted an artichle called saimun. I am new to this and hadn't got around to doing the neccessary citing and whatever. What happened was I need to restart my pc in a hurry and clicked save before it was ready to be published. Although the artichle may not be the most relevant similar artichles exist refering to similar things in the united states. Not quite sure if its fully relevant though. Anyway nice job on the quick delete, that was pretty quick. So If you can restore it, that would be nice and if not, could you try not delete it next time. Thanks. Chris.

Myoutdoortv

thanks .... you continue to be extremely helpful and i thank you for that - i am going to put up the original article that had been in wikipedia for almost a year while we work this out. I assume that based on the amount of time that article was running we should be ok. The major reason for the update to our site was, as I mentioned to you early on, based on the number of requests we had about the company. I completely understand the function of Wikipedia and don't want to be anything other than a reference for people. I have put it in the sandbox again just for you to review one last time. User:Ajbaer2/MyOutdoorTV --Ajbaer2 (talk) 14:35, 17 March 2008 (UTC) I put up the original article on MyOutdoorTv assuming that it met old criteria but another admin (talk)is putting this up for speedy deletion. The website is not without interest to the over 100k visitors and government agencies that are partnering with us. You have explained everything very clearly to me so I realized going back to the original was the right thing for now. Is there anything I can do to stop this removal?[reply]

A Big Thank You

You've helped me out from the beginning on that Levett page, and you've also shown patience and forebearance with a new Wikipedian, which is most appreciated. Many, many thanks!MarmadukePercy (talk) 18:52, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivium

Hey dude, M3tal H3ad and I were talking about rewriting Trivium (despite both despising them). I know that you are interested in the article also so maby you would like to help. I think it would be funny to rewrite it and sweep the wikiproject off of its feet. I've started working on a section in my sandbox. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 22:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I probably will not get around to start it until tomorrow. By the way, your talk page is getting kinda long. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Did you maybe want to work on the formation & first album section? Maby M3tal H3ad could do lead and style. He is on the least out of us and I'm working on the Crusade section right now. 23:10, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
That is okay. I only plan on doing those couple of sections. If I do the entire thing it isn't really a collaberation then. I think a bunch of metalheads woking together is pretty friggen awesome. I don;t know if you ever noticed, but metalheads are the most passionate people for their music. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:30, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Still going to do anything else with it? Burningclean [speak] 17:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's alright. I'll probably finish it up later, seeing as how M3tal H3ad hasn't been on in a few days. Burningclean [speak] 17:57, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How did you undo that one dudes edit, even though I edited it in the meantime? Burningclean [speak] 21:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know how to use undo, but I thought that it doesn't work if someone else has edited the page in the meantime. Burningclean [speak] 21:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

creating an alternate accout

Hello J Milburn.
I am attempting to create an alternate account for use on public computers. I first made a request for an account named Vacuum-Cleaners Suck. (too similar to User:Vacuum Cleaners Suck) I then reconsidered and tried to make a request for an account named Jdelanoy. (i.e. mine, without the dot) I even created a subpage to prove that I originated the request. The automated tool said I had already requested an account. I want to take back my request for User:Vacuum-Cleaners Suck, but I don't know how. Any ideas? Can you, as an admin, create User:Jdelanoy for me? I appreciate your help. J.delanoygabsadds 03:13, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks. J.delanoygabsadds 16:48, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Sumstad

hello J Milburn i recently created the page entitled Richard Sumstad, and you deleted it. under the wikipage "why was my page deleted?" in number 6 under "what you can do about it" it specifies that you can restore a copy of it to my userpage, it would be very much appreciated if you would do so. the url for the page (although deleted) was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Sumstad Thank you in advance, b-radical_1522 —Preceding unsigned comment added by B-radical 1522 (talkcontribs) 20:42, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Watko's "What The Hell Is Going On Here?" Podcast

Why o why does this page get deleted yet other pages about podcasts with much less content and cridentials get to stay? One rule for one and not the others, if people are admins/mods, then surely they should show some consistancy, otherwise Wiki is just going to consist of pages that only the mods/admins want to have included, thus the internet community are missing out on information of which they may wish to learn about. speedy or hasty delete?

A director friend of mine who expected to find more information about me in Wikipedia sent me a link to "Craig Richards" on Wikipedia and noted it's a British DJ, not a reference to me.

So I submitted a page so people could more easily find a reference to me, which does not invalidate the information nor does it make the information untrue. All the information is easily verified by multiple sources including imdb.com.

Agreed, it's always nicer if someone else writes or submits the info other than the subject of the info; however, in view of that oversight, I submitted the information anyway.

I've been an actor since 1977 and was cast in all the roles cited. I worked those films and television shows, so I know I was there. It's difficult for me to comprehend someone else deciding arbritarily that the submission is untrue.

I appreciate your noble endeavor to keep Wikipedia as clean and reliable as possible. Kudos to you. However if you look at my contributions history, you can clearly see I am not a spammer nor have I ever submitted any false information. I suggest your delete of my submission was not only speedy, but also hasty.

For your reference, here is a quick list of the roles (none of them "extras") in which I've been cast over the years that can also be found at http://www.CraigRichards.com/act/resume.html:

Hasty Delete

Why were drug and alcohol intervention deleted they were unbiased articles written by myself a recovering crack cocaine addict as well as an alcoholic. They were not intended to push some website. The information found as cited in the references is from a intervention website that I am in no way a part of I was just attempting to offer valuable information to those wondering about drug and alcohol intervention since I have experience with the topic being the product of an intervention. --Williamgdonovan (talk) 20:19, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HMM / FL

Hi mate, I hope all is well. Do you know how to create parameters for FLs? Currently, the Metal Project has a few FLs which have been tagged as FAs. It'd be great to fix this. LuciferMorgan (talk) 10:22, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it would be great to differentiate, and create parameters on the template which outlines the articles in question as FLs. If the talk page template parameters can be fixed, a HMM category for FLs made etc., that'd be cool. Currently, the stats say the project has 25 FAs - in my eyes, it's 19 FAs and 6 FLs. Hope I'm making sense. LuciferMorgan (talk) 11:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can you make a list class also? It'd be much appreciated. LuciferMorgan (talk) 23:10, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockiness

So, once upon a time, there was a troll named tom.mevlie. He liked the Novels wikiProject. He was banned, and came back the next day as DangerTM, also in the same project. He got found out and banned again. Now, in the exact same project, scant days later, we have WilliamMThompson. Another "total newbie" to Wikipedia attempting to get election discussion running, and totally agreeing with DangerTM's opinions!

That being said, how would I find out if this fellow is the troll? I don't really want to let the guy know I suspect him, and I think the formal sockpuppet page tends to alert people. Howa0082 (talk) 13:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. I'll contact the person you mentioned. (Maybe I'll foot a notion with higher-ups to change the names of block and ban to things that DON'T start with 'b'. I know I'm not the only one who confuses the two.) Howa0082 (talk) 16:27, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You don't want to let the guy know you suspect him? Reading over the welcome page on my talk page, something caught my eye, and it was about ten links down, I think it said something along the lines of "Assume good faith". I want everyone to have their own opinions, everyone should be free, and even when it comes under assuming good faith everyone should be able to voice their opinions, but maybe something that could easily fall into the shady category of "slander" should be considered mor closely. I am not offended, but bemused.WilliamMThompson (talk) 05:10, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Adding to my last comment, maybe you should read this, my adopter refered me to it:

In some cases it may not be completely clear whether an account is a sock puppet, as the purpose is usually to avoid detection. Similarities in interests and editing style can be noted, but not everyone may be familiar enough with the user to understand the evidence. Keep in mind there can be multiple users who are driven to start participating in Wikipedia for the same reason, particularly in controversial areas such as articles about politics, religion, or articles for deletion.

If you have been accused incorrectly of being a sock puppet, do not take it too personally. New users are unknown quantities. Stay around a while and make good edits, and your record will speak for itself. That generally is the only real way to prove that you are not anyone's puppet; even CheckUser cannot give anything beyond a negative confirmation. Don't worry about it, I accept that there are users out there who want to believe that people are there to do bad things, I wasn't accusing you of accusing me, it just seemed like that what where the discussion was going down. WilliamMThompson (talk) 10:11, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Uniques

As of the moment, The Uniques (comics) page is practically blank because the writers asked me to set the formatting up for the page so that they could fill the information in later today. I've also updated the image to being under a fair use policy, and I have full authorisation to use the image as I see fit from the permission of the copyright holders. Please can you send me a message to say what needs to be done so that this page isn't deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LStuchbury (talkcontribs) 11:33, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. We are currently adding references to the article to back it up, but this may take a day or so, how much grace do we have? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LStuchbury (talkcontribs) 13:51, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why the Hugh Kininmonth article may be deleted. I have created a brief piece of information about the Labour candidate for Coromandel and will expand it as more information is posted via his blog - of which I am directly involved. His blog site is reliable as a source as everything written on it is only made public when Hugh has given his approval to it. I am new to using wikipedia, and your advise regarding how to set up an article properly is valued. Please do not delete the article as I feel it provides valuable information - more so as the election year intensifies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sugnaguy (talkcontribs) 05:07, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me? Personal attack? It's a talk page and I was talking about the subject at hand. If you think the page should be deleted, that's fine. Feel free to add to the conversation. Don't go attacking me personally and definitely don't threaten me. I demand an apology. James1906 —Preceding unsigned comment added by James1906 (talkcontribs) 18:00, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    • Trust me, I have no desire to play games either. Let's not forget who started this. You messaged me first, you attacked me, and you threatened me. If you don't way to play games, then you shouldn't have thrown the first pitch. James1906 —Preceding comment was added at 18:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Oh please! What I first wrote was brash, but by no means was a personal attack. Nobody's name was given. It was a general statement on something I find detrimental to Wikipedia. Now you're trying to act like you were doing a public service for me. You were attacking me and patronizing me. When you start your sentence with 'last warning' in bold type, you are obviously trying to inflame. Of course I'm going to take offense to someone who treats me like a child. If you don't want to argue this anymore, that's fine with me. I want that too. However, that requires that you leave me alone and that you leave my posts alone. Thank you in advance for this James1906 —Preceding comment was added at 18:29, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keith_Norman "absurdly speedy delete"

I am astonished to be deleted in the MIDDLE of beginning to edit my first page when I had cited internally (ASLEF) and externally (ASLEF and SWT). ASLEF is an influential union and about to go on a strike for 4 days which will affect many tens if not hundreds of thousands of British travellers. Their General Secretary (a union term meaning the big boss) has been in post for 4 years and is still a stub. I thought to start the ball rolling, inspired by reading "Here Comes Everybody" and other work which referencing Wikipedia... and how people - including those like me who have published in the Technology Review, The Guardian, The Times and Scientific American as well as for institutions ranging from WHO and UN bodies to British Government Departments, might be allowed to dip a toe in the water before developing a deeper relationship with Wiki. To be deleted in the middle of trying to construct a page, when the information and links self-evidently attest to the importance of the content, if not the correct way of going about it as a newbie, frankly beggars belief. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unknown Supremo (talkcontribs) 20:02, 26 March 2008 (UTC) Unknown Supremo (talk) 20:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And viz your vaunted "libertarian (maybe)" and "Very strong belief in social freedoms", you might like to consider mine, and those of the many many people whose will be affected by Keith Norman.

People learn by doing.

You might like to remember Hayek's remark that "Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom" as you go about governing Wikipedia in such a way that the two of us sitting at this table - with two Oxbridge firsts between us, since qualifications seem to interest you - are rather shocked.
