Character history

Lexie is the wife of Salem police chief Abe Carver. Lexie was raised to believe her aunt Grace and Grace's husband were her biological parents. In reality she is the daughter of international criminal Stefano DiMera and Grace's sister Frankie (Celeste Perrault).

She was once a police officer but was kicked off the force for aiding her vigilante brother-in-law Jonah Carver. Later she went through medical school (very quickly even by soap standards) and became a doctor.

Lexie has a history of cheating on her husband. She once had a flirtation with Abe's brother Jonah but they stopped short of an affair. Lexie later sleeps with Abe's illegitimate son Brandon Walker before she knows of his connection to her husband. Years later, Lexie has an affair with Tek Kramer who was a friend of her husband's on the police force.

Lexie, while not a villain, does have a history of unethical behavior. She has a history of sticking up for her father's family, the DiMeras. Her father Stefano and her cousin André have each helped her with her problems (often using illegal means). Fearing Lexie could not bear children Stefano arranges for her to raise Isaac (Zack), the son of Bo Brady and Hope Brady, as her biological son after a surrogate's baby is switched with Zack in the hospital. Lexie originally did not know this, but later chose to keep quiet about it once she found out, despite Hope being her best friend.

Lexie has a history of antagonism with Sami Brady. They both were involved with Brandon Walker. Sami has blackmailed Lexie on a number of occasions due to Lexie's repeated adultery. Most recently, Sami has Lexie lie to Carrie, regarding her chances of having healthy children. Breaking her Hippocratic oath, Lexie is fired from Salem University Hospital, and has not found a replacement job. However, with Hope's help, Lexie is offered the opportunity of becoming Kayla Johnson's part-time private nurse and 'personal medical advisor', which she accepts.

Gallivanting about with Tek Kramer, Lexie inadvertently witnesses the shooting of John Black by E.J. Wells. She is unable to reveal this fact, due to it coming out she was with Tek yet again, which she had promised her husband would never happen again. Lexie instead said she saw the deed in lieu of Tek, and shortly afterwards they both are run off the road. No bodies are recovered - some say E.J. had had them killed to silence Lexie's eye witnessing of his crime, and others say they had run off in love together for good. Later, Lexie is unexpectedly discovered in the underground tunnels of Salem, during Hope and Bo's investigation of the long running Brady-DiMera feud. While delirious from fear and having been trapped in the tunnels for months, Lexie bashed Bo over the head with a flashlight, knocking him out. Hope, Doug and Julie helped her out of the tunnels, where she promptly attacked Hope and nearly strangled her. Doug interveined and pulled her off his daughter, Hope quickly unmasked Lexie and knew she didn't realize what she was doing. Later on, Lexie agreed to help John Black and Bo Brady help set a trap for Andre DiMera. She reinstated by Salem Univeristy Hospital board and has been submitted for Chief of Staff.
