Song |
"Take a Bow" is a song written by R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and recorded by pop singer Rihanna. Added to a re-released version of Good Girl Gone Bad, the song was the fifth single from that album .
Background and composition
"Take a Bow" is a pop and R&B song written by Rihanna's label mate Ne-Yo, who she previously worked with on "Unfaithful" and "Hate That I Love You". Stargate, who are behind a number of Rihanna's singles, produced the song. The premise of the song is based around a deceiving partner. The single was originally to be released as part of the album A Girl Like Me.[1]
Single release
The song was premiered on KZZP and KRQQ's JohnJay and Rich in the Morning on March 14, 2008,[2] and was made available to media outlets later that same day.[1] The song will be added to an augmented version of her 2007 Good Girl Gone Bad, scheduled for release on May 27. The amount of airplay "Take a Bow" received in its first three days of release was enough for the song to debut at number 46 in radio spins, against songs that had a week's worth of airplay.[3] MTV News has said the the album will also be re-released on May 27 in the UK.[citation needed]
