We Break the Dawn is an R&B song written by American singer Michelle Williams for her upcoming third studio album Unexpected. Her manager "Matthew Knowles" stated to Billboard that "We Break the Dawn" will be the album's first single due to the upbeat of the song lyrics.
Release
A snippet of the song was released on the internet February 2008. The song distances Williams from her trademark gospel music. The song is set to be released on March 31st of 2008 on people.com
Music video
Williams has stated on her MySpace that there will be a music video. Williams has stated that she will not start doing promotion on the album until after the musical, because she wants to give the musical "a year of her life".
