Character History

Events Before Birth

Cameron Webber is the biological son of Zander Smith and Elizabeth Webber whose former stepfather is Lucky Spencer. Lucky has never adopted Cameron even though Cameron thinks of him as his father. Elizabeth went to a bar called Jake's and saw Zander there on Halloween night of 2003. Zander was furious at his wife Emily Quartermaine because she had an affair with Nikolas Cassadine and Elizabeth was angry at her husband Ric Lansing because he had drugged her, kidnapped a pregnant Carly Corinthos, held her hostage in the panic room, chained her to a wall, planned to give her Carly's unborn baby to raise, and then kill Carly after she had given birth. She was also upset since Ric let her drink poisoned lemonade, paid a doctor to say she was unable to have children, fed her birth control pills, caused her to have an embolism, and tried to smother her to death with a pillow. She also had her heart broken by both Jason Morgan and Ric. Her confusion about her feelings toward Ric also had her in low spirits. Zander and Elizabeth were good friends and the two talked, found comfort in each other's arms, and slept together for what would be their second one night stand.

Zander did not have any regrets about their revenge sex the next morning but Elizabeth did. She went to see Emily and told her what she had done. She confessed that she did it because she had wanted to punish Ric and do something he would consider to be unforgivable so he would leave her alone. She apologized to Emily and Emily forgave her.

Elizabeth divorced Ric. She later realized she accepted him for who he was, forgave him, loved him, and wanted to be with him. Ric and Elizabeth reconciled and remarried. Ric became the District Attorney.Elizabeth quit her job as a waitress at Kelly's and decided to focus on her career as an artist. The two sold their house with the panic room. Ric and Elizabeth rented an apartment to live in together and moved in.Ric and Elizbaeth wanted to have children and planned to have a baby. Zander started to work for Faith Rosco as her bodyguard, helped her with her illegal activities, divorced Emily, and became determined to get even with Nikolas and Emily.

Elizabeth discovered she was pregnant and did not know who the father of her baby was. She had a paternity test which determined that Zander was the father of her unborn baby. Elizabeth tried to convince Zander to give up his career as a criminal but he refused. She repeatedly tried to tell Zander about their baby but he cut her off each time before she could get the words out. Elizabeth did not like Zander's new attitude and was relcutant to tell him that he was going to be a father. She let Ric assume he was the father because he was exicted about becoming a father and Zander did not want the baby. Elizabeth later told Ric the truth after he tricked her into tellling him and he accepted it. Ric forgave Elizabeth and told her he still wanted to be with her and raise the baby together.

Ric and Elizabeth talked about the baby. Ric told Elizabeth he wanted the baby to have his last name and be able to be the child's father. He convinced her that Zander was a danger to the baby and got her to agree to let him adopt the baby. The only problem they had to deal with was to get Zander to give up his paternal rights so Ric could adopt the baby.

Ric and Elizabeth told Zander the truth and asked him to give up his paternal rights so they could raise the baby together but Zander refused. He contiued to refuse even after Ric tried to pay him off. His constant refusals eventually destroyed his friendship with Elizabeth. Zander later changed his mind and agreed to do so if Ric had Nikolas framed and arrested for the murder of Cody McCall, put him on trial, and got him found guilty. He wanted to send Nikolas to prison so he could get revenge on Nikolas and Emily for their betrayal and reunite with Emily. Ric complied to do so at first until it became obvious to too many people what was going on. He became fed up with Zander after he physcially attacked Nikolas and demanded Ric have him charged with assault and blackmailed him into giving up his paternal rights without Elizabeth's knowledge. Zander got involved in a shootout with Jason and his men and tried to kill Jason not much later and Faith named him as the shooter of Detective Brian Beck to Ric in exchange for police protection from Sonny and Jason. He was unable to prove his innocence after Brian named him as his shooter and Jason and his wife Courtney set him up to take the fall for her crime and went on the run after Ric issued a warrant for his arrest.

Elizabeth ran into Zander in the basement of the Port Charles Hotel. He threatened to take the baby away from her if she did not agree to help him get Emily to meet with him and tried to attack her. Elizabeth grabbed a pipe, hit him over the head, knocked him out, picked up the stolen custody papers, and left. She believed she had killed him in self-defense. Zander was still alive and sent Ric and Elizabeth letters to tell them that one of them was responsible for his death. Elizabeth confessed to Ric about what she had done. She got in her car and attempted to drive to the PCPD to see Lucky in order to confess to her crime and clear Nikolas's name but she got in a car accident and had to be rushed to General Hospital before she could do so. Her baby and her were both unharmed. Ric, Nikolas, and Emily teamed up and convinced Jason Morgan to commit perjury and sign a document that said that Andy Capelli admitted to him that he killed Zander before he died in order to protect Elizabeth and her unborn baby. Elizabeth later thanked Jason for what he did and a jealous Courtney watched as they grinned at each other as her unborn baby kicked against his hand.

Zander went to Cameron Lewis's grave to see him one last time and mourn the loss of his father. He apologized for killing him and told him what had happened. He promised to name his baby Cameron after him if it was a boy and make sure he knew his grandfather had been a good man. He told him he planned to get Emily to accept him for who he was and fall in love with him again, marry her, raise his child with her as a family, and make her and his son happy. He swore he would make his father proud of him. Elizabeth began to have nightmares that Zander would take her baby away from her. Elizabeth got Ric to agree to give Zander a proper funeral and the two discovered that Zander's "dead body" actually belonged to a man named Wally who he had killed after they went to make the arrangements.

Zander went insane and kidnapped Emily, held her hostage, demanded she have sex with him, and threatened to kill Nikolas if she refused. Elizabeth saw Zander with Emily at Brenda Barrett's old cottage and called Ric and the cops. Ric showed up with a police squad to arrest Zander and ordered him to release Emily and surrender unarmed. Zander was shot and killed by the police and died in Emily's arms without ever getting the chance to see his child.

Birth

Elizabeth divorced Ric because she could not cope with his vendetta against his brother Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan. She said good-bye to Jason and Ric and left town. She gave birth off-screen to a boy and named him Cameron in honor of his late paternal grandfather Cameron Lewis. She later returned to Port Charles and ran into Ric and Alexis Davis at the park after she went for a walk with Cameron in to get him to go to sleep. She talked to Ric and Alexis, let Ric hold Cameron who calmed down in his arms, and made it clear to Ric that it would be a mistake for them to try again. Elizabeth moved in with her grandmother Audrey March Hardy and became a student nurse so she could feed and clothe Cameron. Cameron attended daycare during the day while his mother worked. Elizabeth introduced Jason to her son Cameron after she ran into him at Kelly's in December 2004 and he held Cameron as the two sat down and talked about his feelings for Sam McCall. Elizabeth often says Cameron looks a lot like Zander.

Surrogacy

Lucky and Elizabeth fell back in love and became a couple. They decided to live together and rented an apartment. Elizabeth got newlyweds Jasper Jacks and Courtney Matthews to agree to allow her to be the surrogate mother for their baby and get enough money to pay off Lucky's expensive medical bills. Jax was excited about becoming a father and both Lucky and Courtney became jealous of all the time and attention he started to give to Elizabeth. Lucky left Elizabeth so she could give birth to the baby in peace which caused Elizabeth to cry herself to sleep on the couch and made her forget to turn off the stove after Cameron and her made brownies to cheer Lucky up. A fire started in their apartment but Jax saved Elizabeth and Cameron's lives and rushed them to be checked out in General Hospital. Elizabeth and Cameron moved in with Jax and Courtney for a while until Jax had their apartment redone and they moved back into it with Lucky. Elizabeth eventually miscarried the baby after Jax and her got into a car accident accidentally caused by Carly Corinthos and Cameron lost his younger sibling.

Household Problems

Eventually, Lucky and Elizabeth got married, and Cameron became Lucky's stepson. Lucky and Elizabeth have had many problems. They had financial problems and then Lucky became addicted to painkillers and started an affair with Maxie Jones. During this time, Elizabeth sent Cameron to live with Audrey so he would not be exposed to Lucky's drug addiction, his affair with Maxie, or danger from being around Lucky's constant strung-out state. After Elizabeth discovered that Lucky had lied to her and broken his promise to never touch drugs or Maxie again, she packed her bags, left Lucky, divorced him, and moved back into Audrey's house with Cameron. She discovered that she was pregnant with Jason Morgan's child and planned to raise her two children as a single mother. She refused to take Lucky back even though her family and friends told her to. Lucky learned that Elizabeth was pregnant, believed he was the father, and went into rehab. Elizabeth was hurt that Cameron and her had not been enough for Lucky to get clean. She was also shocked to find out that Maxie was pregnant with Lucky's baby. Elizabeth promised to let Lucky be involved in Cameron and the baby's lives as long as he stayed clean even though she would not take him back.

A New Brother

Lucky became clean, was released from rehab, and got his job back as a cop. He told Elizabeth that he loved her and asked her to marry him again so they could raise their baby together as a family but Elizabeth refused. Elizabeth did not want to because she was sick of Lucky's lies, did not want to put her children's lives at risk in case Lucky went back to drugs, his affair with Maxie Jones, and the constant danger he put everyone in his strung out state, had lost all of her trust in him, was in love with Jason Morgan, and was pregnant with Jason's baby. She discovered a bottle of pills in Lucky's desk in the PCPD, thought Lucky was using again, and decided to cut Lucky out of Cameron and her unborn baby's lives forever. Lucky threatened to sue for custody of both children but Elizabeth told him it was a fight he would lose. She changed her mind and let Lucky spend Thansksgiving and Christmas with Cameron and her after Jason later convinced her that Ric planted the drugs to frame Lucky in an attempt to get her back.

Elizabeth told Lucky she knew who he was, loved him, and wanted to be with him and agreed to marry again after the Hostage Crisis. They remarried and moved into the Spencer House with Cameron. Elizabeth gave birth to a baby boy and named him Jacob Martin in May 2007. Elizabeth kept the truth of Cameron's brother Jake a secret because she feared that Lucky would go back to drugs, his affair with Maxie Jones, and the danger he put others in his strung out state. She also did not want Sam to leave Jason and ruin his life if she told the truth. She also feared the consequences Jason's lifestyle might bring to Jake's life. Jason agreed to this plan in order to keep his son safe.

Elizabeth and Cameron have had several run-ins with Jason, and they get along well. Cameron has come to like Jason very much, which is no surprise as Jason is known for being very good with kids. Jason has talked to him, had milk and cookies with him, watched videos with him, pushed him on the swings, and played with him. Jason even got him the last Chuggin' Charlie he wanted for Christmas, and Elizabeth was very grateful.

Jake was kidnapped from his stroller when Elizabeth, Cameron, and Jake were at the park. Elizabeth sent Cameron to stay at Audrey's house until Jake was found by Jason and Amelia Joffe. Jason, Elizabeth, Cameron, and Jake shared a happy moment together but it ended after Lucky had Jason arrested in front of Cameron and Jake for jumping bail much to Elizabeth's dismay.

The Perfect Family

Ric had Jason arrested and put on trial for the murder of Lorenzo Alcazar. He decided to make Elizabeth a witness and have her testify. Jason refused to accept a plea bargain of second degree murder and serve twenty years in prison without parole in exchange for his silence about Jason and Elizabeth's one-night stand and the possibility of him being Jake's father. Ric forced Elizabeth to reveal she slept with Jason with Lucky in the courtroom. After Ric asked if Jason was her baby's father, Elizabeth lied and committed perjury by saying Lucky was his father.

Lucky and Elizabeth's marriage was strained. Lucky was furious to discover that Elizabeth had slept with Jason and lied to him about it. He asked Elizabeth if he was Jake's father. She lied and told him yes. Elizabeth told him she lied to him because she did not want him to go back to pills, Maxie Jones, or put their children in danger. The two were angry at each other and Cameron witnessed them argue several times. Eventually Lucky and Elizabeth realized their hate and anger towards each other hurt their children and agreed to learn to forgive each other and save their marriage for Cameron and Jake.

Jason's ex-girlfriend, Sam McCall, hates Elizabeth and blames her for her breakup with Jason. She has called Elizabeth names, insulted her, yelled at her, and argued with her in front of Cameron and Jake. She plans to get revenge on Elizabeth and make her lose Lucky and her children. She hired men to threaten Elizabeth, Cameron, and Jake in the park at gunpoint and had them say they planned to kidnap them and use them as leverage against Jason because she wanted to make Elizabeth too scared to be with Jason. Jason told Elizabeth that he wanted to have a relationship with her and build a family with Cameron, Jake, and her. Elizabeth informed Jason of the men who threatened her in the park. Jason and Elizabeth declared their love for each other. The two shared a "good-bye kiss" and agreed to stay away from each other for good in order to protect Elizabeth and her children.

Jason and Spinelli teamed up to find the men who threatened Elizabeth and her children. After Jason found the men, kidnapped them, tied them to chairs, and held them at gunpoint, he had them give up the name of the person who hired them and was furious and shocked to find out it was Sam. Her actions caused Jason to hate her. He went to see Sam and the two called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, and argued. She showed no remorse for her actions and told him she did it to show Elizabeth the danger of being with him. Sam blamed him for her being shot and not being able to have children. Jason threatened to kill her if she tried to hurt Elizabeth, Cameron, or Jake again. He decided not to tell Elizabeth the truth because he believed the boys and her were safer with Lucky. Sam has ignored Jason's warning and decided to destroy Lucky and Elizabeth's marriage and make Elizabeth lose her children. She hired Lucky as her bodyguard, started to feed into his insecurities about Elizabeth, and seduced him. She has kissed him twice and on September 17, 2007 Lucky and Sam had sex.

A New Threat

Sonny and Jason have a new enemy named Anthony Zacchara. His lawyer Trevor Lansing has come to town. They believe he plans to try to take over their territory in Port Charles. It has been revealed that he goes after his enemies' families and this has caused the people close to Sonny and Jason to panic. Elizabeth is afraid that Cameron and Jake are in danger because of her closeness to Jason and her fears have increased after the murder of Michael and Morgan Corinthos's nanny Leticia Juarez. Elizabeth has started to watch her children even more closely and has begun to keep a gun on her.

Shocking News

Jason told Elizabeth about all the people who knew the truth about Jake. He also told her that Sam had watched Jake get kidnapped and did nothing to stop it and had hired the men to threaten her children and her in the park. He assaured her that he handled Sam. Elizabeth was still angry and wants Sam to be arrested for her crimes.

The Second Divorce And A New Life

Lucky and Elizabeth decided to get a divorce again. Elizabeth, Cameron, and Jake moved out of the Spencer House and temporarily into Audrey Hardy's house. Elizabeth put a down payment in a new house for the boys and her to live in and moved in with them. She hired the Corinthos/Morgan attorney Diane Miller to handle the divorce. Lucky was angry that Elizabeth hired Diane to file their divorce and sue for sole custody of the kids because he hates her and she is Jason's lawyer. He hired Alexis Davis to handle their divorce and planned to sue for sole custody of the boys. Lucky threatened to make Elizabeth look like an unfit mother because of her friendship with Jason put the boys in danger and take Cameron and Jake from her if she did not fire Diane and let Alexis handle the divorce. Elizabeth told him if he did that she would have Diane bring up his drug addiction, his affair with Maxie, the danger he put her children and her in, and that he was currently sleeping with Sam. Lucky has no right to either of Elizabeth's children because he is not their biological father and did not adopt them.

Lucky and Elizabeth's divorce got ugly. Diane made Lucky look like a bad husband and an unfit father and brought up his addiction to painkillers, his affair with Maxie Jones, the danger he put Elizabeth and her children in, and that he was sleeping with Sam to punish Elizabeth. Alexis made Elizabeth look like an awful wife and an unfit mother and brought up her friendship with Jason, her one-night stand with Jason, her lying to Lucky for a year about sleeping with Jason, and her marrying Lucky under false pretenses. Lucky filed for immediate guardianship of Jake but the judge denied it to him and let the baby remain in Elizabeth's custody. Lucky and Elizabeth hated the hurt and pain they caused to the boys and each other and decided to stop fighting with each other. Lucky argeed to fire Alexis, let Diane file their divorce, and allow Elizabeth to have sole custody of the boys and Elizabeth argeed to allow Lucky to have unlimited visitation of Cameron and Jake. Lucky and Elizabeth decided to learn how to trust each other again for the boys and end their marriage as friends.

Jason has yelled at Carly for calling Elizabeth names and insulting her in front of him. He told her loves Elizabeth and wants to be a family with Cameron, Jake, and her but stays away from them because he wants them to be safe. He would rather be alone than have them hurt.

An Angry Mother

Lucky and Elizabeth were happy to see Nikolas and Emily get engaged during the Black and White Ball. The two talked about their love for each other over the years and their relationship and shared a " good-bye" dance. Sam saw them, became angry, and confronted Elizabeth. The two called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, and argued. Sam gloated about her having Lucky and Elizabeth told her she blamed her for her divorce because she fed into Lucky's doubts about her, seduced him, had an affair with him, and ruined her marriage. She also told Sam she was aware she knew the truth about Jason being Jake's father, watched Jake get kidnapped and did nothing to stop it, and hired men to threaten her children and her in the park at gunpoint and that Jason was the one to tell her the truth and he trusted her. Elizabeth slapped Sam for what she did to Jason and her children and tried to walk away but Sam grabbed her, punched her, and the two got into a fight. Elizabeth put her hands on Sam's neck and started to choke the life out of her but Lucky came and ended the fight.

Jason took a speedboat to Wymendmere and arrived at the Black and White ball to save his family and friends from Anthony Zacchara. He found Elizabeth first, talked to her, took her to the barn, gave her one of his guns, taught her how to shoot with it, kissed and hugged her, and ordered her to lock the door so she would be safe and be able to go home to Cameron and Jake after the crisis was over. He later brought Spinelli, Nadine, and Lulu to stay with her in the stables as well. Jason and Sam teamed up and shot and killed two of Anthony Zacchara's hitmen in order to save Carly's life. Carly told Sam that the only reason why she saved her was to get Jason back. Jason made it clear to Sam and Carly that he would never forgive Sam and that they were over. Sam became angry and called Jason names, insulted him, yelled at him, agrued with him, told him she would never take him back anyway, and decided to tell Lucky the truth about Jake to get revenge on Jason and Elizabeth.

Sam found Lucky and took him to the stables. Sam confronted Elizabeth with Lucky and demanded that she tell the truth about Jake. Elizabeth and her called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, and agrued. Jason came and yelled at Sam. Jason said to Lucky, "You are not Jake's father Lucky....I am". Once the truth came out, Lucky found it difficult to believe. Elizabeth attempted to explain that she lied about him being Jake's father because he had only given up drugs, his affair with Maxie, and the constant danger he put his family and friends in his strung out state, went to rehab, became sober, and stayed clean for a child that was not his and she had not want to hurt him and take that away from him. Lucky became angry, called Jason and Elizabeth names, insulted them, yelled at them, agrued with them, and punched Jason. The agrument continued with Jason defending Elizabeth. Elizabeth tried to tell Lucky all of Sam's evil deeds but Lucky cut her off, refused to hear it, and left. Sam gloated to Jason and Elizabeth and followed Lucky back to Wyndemere. After they left Jason became emotional and told Elizabeth he could not lie about Jake being his son anymore.

Jason and Elizabeth talked about who they are, their past, and the love they had for each other. Elizabeth told Jason she was confused and did not know what to do now. Jason told her he wanted to be with her and raise Cameron and Jake together as family but it was her decision to make about their future. Elizabeth is torn about her desire to be with Jason and what is best for Cameron and Jake.

Cameron and Jake lost their godmother Emily after she was strangled to death and killed.

Lucky told Elizabeth that he wanted to continue to pretend to be Jake's father and raise Cameron and Jake as his own in order to protect them from Jason's dangerous lifestyle as long as she agreed to stay away from Jason and keep the boys away from him. Elizabeth hesitantly agreed. It became clear that as she talked to Jason that she wanted him to be Cameron and Jake's father instead of Lucky. Jason decided that the boys were safer off with Lucky as their father and agreed to stay away from them. Lucky later went to confront Jason at his penthouse and Jason told him if he went back to drugs or let Sam hurt them he would take Cameron and Jake away from him. Sam urged Lucky to remain as Cameron and Jake's father and has tried to talk him into letting her spend time with them because she wants to be a part of their lives and use them to hurt Jason and Elizabeth. Elizabeth does not want her near Cameron or Jake and has made it clear to both Lucky and Sam.

Jason and Elizabeth started to have an affair and agreed to date and be lovers in secret so Cameron and Jake will not get hurt.

Jason watched sadly through a window as Elizabeth helped Cameron and Jake hang up their stockings for Santa Claus to put presents in them on Christmas Eve and realized he would never be able to enjoy Christmas with Elizabeth and their boys.

Sam went to see Elizabeth and offered to babysit Cameron and Jake but Elizabeth immediately refused. The two called each other names, insulted each other, yelled at each other, and agrued. Elizabeth told Sam to do her worst and Sam said she would take her up on her offer.Sam told Carly the truth about Jake and Carly is determined to get Jason joint custody of Jake. Elizabeth angrily confronted Sam and threatened to tell Lucky and Carly about her evil deeds so Lucky will leave her and Carly will ruin her life if she tries to hurt Cameron and Jake one more time.

Elizabeth gave Jason pictures of Cameron and Jake and he looks at them often.

Cameron has started to play with matches. He lit a match when Elizabeth was not around and threw it into a nearby garbage can. Elizabeth saw him with the matches in his hands and Cameron ran away from her in order to avoid punishment. A fire started in the house and Jake was trapped inside. Elizabeth used a chair to smash open a window and crawled inside to save Jake. She managed to save Jake and had to take him to General Hospital to get him help because he had problems breathing. She also collapsed and needed help because she nearly died due to glass being in a bad cut in her leg. Elizabeth had to stay overnight at the hospital for observations and had Lucky agree to Jake home and watch Cameron and her for a few days.

The Threat

Carly went to see Elizabeth in her hospital room on Jason's birthday. The two began to argue with one another, resulting with Carly telling Elizabeth that a good birthday present for Jason would be having custody of his son, Jake. Elizabeth told Carly to mind her own business and stay out of her children's lives. Carly told her she knew Cameron had started the fire that nearly killed Jake and she would go to a lawyer to get Jason sole custody of Jake and have her declared an unfit mother so she would lose Cameron. Jax and Jason told her to leave Elizabeth, Cameron, and Jake alone but Carly refused. Elizabeth is also aware that Lucky, let Sam watch Cameron and Jake and put her kids in danger, after being called in for work.
