Had you been clear from the beginning that you were a fan of Prof. Reese, had you taken the time to learn more about Wikipedia before you started, and had you taken the advice provided to you (not to mention seeking it out), things might have turned out differently. I hope you will take this as a learning experience, and continue to contribute to Wikipedia (and not just about Prof. Reese).--[[User:Curtis Clark|Curtis Clark]] ([[User talk:Curtis Clark|talk]]) 13:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your concerns for being new user to Wikipedia. There was no way to my knowledge to express me being a fan of Prof. Reese without potentially violating neutrality. Even though, I am fan of Reese, this article was not created to honor him but it was to inform what one man is trying to do in our world, thus hopefully it might inspire other to go out and make positive changes in the world. I must admit that creating an article was quite difficult, but what was even more difficult was seeking for help. I apologize for not being computer savvy. Wikipedia is not a user friendly site to new user, who wants to share information. Wikipedia should be adjusted to be more user friendly, that a person with a conviction to share new knowledge to the world be made easier. I am disappointed that the community was so quick to condemn even before I can even get a hang of editing procedures. I prefer more help versus pressure to delete. Again, like most article in Wikipedia, this article is a work in progress. The references I recently provided were valid and in accordance with Wikipedia suggestion for references. Thus, the new references added should eliminate the appearance of an autobiography. Discrediting LA Times, CNN, etc. or even the Cal Poly Post is such a pitty as a member of the community did. I wish the community would take the few minutes to do their own research on Reese by using popular search engine such as proquest, google, yahoo, etc. to determine the notability of this man. Mr. Clark, you mentioned that you are working at the same institution as Reese, thus the conveniences and availability of information at working at the place should provide you an upper hand to determine his notability over any other members of the Wikipedia’s community including myself. We both know he is not Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt but however there are also many articles in Wikipedia about a person that you and I do not know about. Therefore, as a fan of Wikipedia I believe that the sole purpose of Wikipedia is to inform the world about these people who you and I do not know about. The issue of notability is just like the issue of beauty that is “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” You are right about one thing, that this was a truly learning experience. I will be taking your suggestion to delete this article within 24 hours. Mr. Clark, I greatly appreciate your encouragement to be active in this community. Thank you again. -Mr4sh0wz

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Renford Reese‎. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. ww2censor (talk) 01:22, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Renford Reese

I have nominated Renford Reese, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Renford Reese. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. You're not helping Prof. Reese at all

Your creation of the article Renford Reese, while perhaps intended to honor him, may instead have had the effect of subjecting him to ridicule. This is primarily because your edits could very easily be construed as having been made by Prof. Reese himself. They show a knowledge of the subject that could easily be taken as self-knowledge, and it's only because of the detailed biography provided by Prof. Reese on his web page that I can accept that anyone other than him could have written the Wikipedia article.

Autobiographies are especially problematic for Wikipedia, since they often involve hot-button issues such as conflict of interest, point of view, and original research. Because the article looks to be autobiographical, readers might assume that Prof. Reese was so vain as to write his own Wikipedia article. Your use of several different accounts for editing (these are called sock puppet accounts, and are generally viewed unfavorably), if also attributed to Prof. Reese, would sully his reputation even further.

Reese).--Curtis Clark (talk) 13:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
