Navtej Sarna was born in Jalandhar, India and is currently the Spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He passed out of the 1980 Class of Indian Foreign Service.

He also writes short stories, and book reviews. His first novel published was We Weren't Lovers Like That.[1]
