Janet Chow Ka Wai or Janet Chow (Chinese: 周家蔚 (born August 25 1983, in Toronto, Canada) was the first runner up in the 2006 Miss Hong Kong competition.

Pageant career

Both Janet, and Miss Hong Kong 2006 winner, Aimee Chan Yan Mei, had competed at Miss Chinese Toronto 2004, although each failed to place. Later, Janet joined the top 16 of the Miss Hong Kong 2006 pageant as one of four women who were selected from overseas to compete. During the finals, she won the Miss Photogenic award, and received the highest swimsuit score (44) during her catwalk, although her interview only merited 29 points. She eventually placed as first runner up.

After hosting some shows, she was selected to represent Hong Kong at the Miss World 2006 pageant. Originally Aimee—the winner—was supposed to compete at Miss World; however, Aimee was 25 years old, and thus considered over-age by the Miss World Organization, although Miss World Canada 2006—also 25—did compete. As a native Canadian, Janet spoke fluent English, and did well in the "Vote For Me" show, being the most fluent English speaker in the Asia-Pacific zone. Although she received positive comments during the finals, she failed to make the top 17.
