This category is intended for child characters in all genres of fiction, including literature, movies, television, comics, etc. As with real children, the term refers to characters who are understood to be under age 18 during the course of the book, story, film or episode in which they are depicted.

In the case of characters who mature in the course of the story, articles should only be included in these subcategories if the character's childhood experiences form a notable part of the story.
