:The problem has nothing to do with permission from the band members, and in fact, the articles don't belong to the subject, but to Wikipedia. As such, anyone is free to edit and change an article so long as it is cited from reliable sources. There is no precedent for complete duplications of material from other sources, except in small, properly cited quotes. There is no problem in using the material on their website as the ''source'' for the article, but it must be written independently of the page and then facts cited per [[WP:CITE]]. Welcome

If you feel the need to comment about something I have posted on Wikipedia, simply do it below. I try to make all my edits In Good Faith. Thanks. 69.133.89.131 (talk) 18:18, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Pryce's myspace

How do you know it's his official myspace? I saw that myspace a few weeks ago and one of his "friends" had left a comment saying that Pryce was not associated with the page and, suspiciously, the message has now been deleted. I've also sent a private message to the user asking if it really was official and he never replied back. Why do you say it's official?--Yamanbaiia(free hugs!) 08:43, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A good friend of mine is executive producer on the set of G.I. Joe, I had asked him to ask Mr. Pryce whether or not it was an official myspace. He answered "yes". Therefore I can only conclude that it is. 69.133.89.131 (talk) 11:06, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to User talk:Garrett.Graff, without explaining the valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. ~ akendall 04:16, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Rare Earth (band). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. The material you added for the history section of this article is directly copied and pasted from the band's website. This is a copyright violation and completely improper per Wikipedia policy. The problem has nothing to do with permission from the band members, and in fact, the articles don't belong to the subject, but to Wikipedia. As such, anyone is free to edit and change an article so long as it is cited from reliable sources. There is no precedent for complete duplications of material from other sources, except in small, properly cited quotes. There is no problem in using the material on their website as the source for the article, but it must be written independently of the page and then facts cited per WP:CITE. Doing so circumvents copyright infringement issues. The other issue with it as it exists on the webpage is that it doesn't quite meet Wikipedia guidelines for content prose and neutral point of view; for example "Most people in the beginning thought Rare Earth to be black. Surprise, surprise." As it currently reads, it is balanced and has more content than the actual history on the Rare Earth webpage. However, if any of it is incorrect, please note that on the talk page or make changes to errors. We do appreciate that the band is aware of, and interested in, its article.
