I presently live in Huntington, West Virginia, USA, where I attend Marshall University. I am not from West Virginia originally, but moved here to marry the most beautiful woman in the world and begin a new life with her. We now have a beautiful daughter who is full of energy, curiosity, and determination. (Thank you, Lord!)

Background

Formerly a software/systems engineer and graphic designer who worked primarily in the newspaper publishing and advertising industries, I am now preparing to become a teacher of social studies and computers. I am an eclectic scholar with interests in just about everything, especially geography. Piet, my old boss in the Netherlands used to call me his "CDtje", meaning "little CD-ROM." My main desire is to serve my Lord wherever He can best use me.

My Faith

I am an evangelical Christian believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross as a substitionary sacrifice so that we could be made righteous. Death could not hold Him and He is now seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. He is coming again.

Sinners cannot please God or do anything to save themselves. Because humans are sinful, we have many troubles in the world: war, murder, poverty, hunger, theft, social inequality, suffering and the general devaluing of human life. We all fall short of the glory of God.

What makes the Christian faith different is that we do not trust in our own ability to be good and earn eternal life, but rather in the Righteous One who took our place on the Cross at Calvary to restore us to a right relationship with God. The Lord cancelled our sin at the Cross.

There is no other name by which we must be saved. Jesus is the only way!
