etoro forex platform 2nd deletion

it seems you hardly give any thought to helping me understand what exactly needs to be improved in order for it to be ok with you, and just delete it before I get a chance to say anything. I was going to add more info in order to make it "more relevant" as you requested, but since I have no clue what qualifies as information and what qualifies as advertising according to your mysterious standarts, I left it at that point. When I came back to fix it, you already deleted it, that's no way to explain yourself. Wikipedia has thousends of articles about softwares, take for example this article which has a screenshot and a link to the company's homepage. I haven't posted any links or screenshots and haven't advertised anything, so any "it's an ad" arguments you might have - fail. now you say it's not notable, but instead of helping you just delete it. I am in the process of improving the article and turning it into something "more relevant" ( whatever that means, 'cos you don't explain anything ). maybe trying to explain how to write an article instead of deleting it without giving a proper explanation would be more fitting to your position. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JeromeDaurdan (talkcontribs) 09:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ViewOn.Tv deletion ?

Hi Pascal,

I'm confused. ViewOn.Tv is a system used in several countries with more than 4000 users (Not yet downloadable for some countries, but we are working on this). Like Joost, Babelgum companies I think this service has a place in Wikipedia, no ?

There is no difference, except we do not advertise in countries we do not support !

Maybe there is something we have to change in the page to have something more appropriate for encyclopedia ?

Please tell me

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Viewon01 (talkcontribs) 13:04, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fake IP Block

Hello a user by the name of Davl103 has put a fake IP Block on my IP Page. HE HAS no admistrator privliges. Here is the evidence.63.3.10.1 18:53, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um. Would it be considered a fake block? On a side note, I've had three e-mails about password change from Wikimedia, with someone from the above IP address wanting to change my password. Also, its not 63.3.10.1 IP page. It's 63.3.10.130 IP page. See this edit. Also. Thanks, Davnel03 14:17, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

William Everleigh

Hello there.

I see that you removed the speedy notice from the page, which of course was fair and proper as there is assertation of notability. I'm looking into whether or not this is a hoax, and my limited internet resources have left me dry so far. Considering you may have access to Lexus-Nexus or something of the sort, perhaps you might be able to find something? Otherwise I'm going to AfD the article in a couple days. I haven't given up hope, but there's little to be had left. Keegantalk 04:06, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good deal. This makes for a good example of why hoaxes are not speedy candidates but nonsense is, and the separation of the two. Keep up the good work, Pascal. Keegantalk 03:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help with a move

I was trying to clean up one of User:Beko120's junk page moves, but made a hash of it. I tried to rename the old (and better) page (which was then a redirect) to a temp name to enable moving the page back to the old name. I stupidly hadn't remembered that it would just create a double redirect situation. The page in question is currently named BBC CBBC Channel and I was trying to get it back to just CBBC Channel. There's now a page I created called CBBC Channel (temp) that should be deleted.

Sorry for fouling this up and for having to bother you. I figured you were the right guy since you put a block on this pinhead's accounts, so you have at least a passing familiarity with his games.

Thanks. Majorclanger 00:32, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Computer Builders Warehouse?

Hi Pascal,

Can you please explain why you would delete Computer Builders Warehouse, this company is the largest computer company in the state of michigan, you can check Intel, AMD, Microsoft website and find this company. The largest supplier of AMD in the Great Lakes Area. This company complies with the list of michigan based companies? This would be like deleteing Dell or Newegg.com or Tigerdirect from this website? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrbreslin (talkcontribs) 04:22, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

template under ANI - deletion

hi, you've recently delteted this template [1] which is mentioned as a prime example for a policy violation under these ANIs - [2], [3] and this AN [4].

i have no idea regarding the protocols on such deletions when a case about them is still in progress, and i would request that you - a person with the admin tools that allow looking into deletion history - consider giving the ANI case a serious look (there's a lot of material there) and consider giving a 3rd opinion. Adminship

Eherm Hello. I want to tell you somthing. Well you are an administrator so you can do things that I can't do. I'm likeing a nomination for adminship but I can't go on that page becuse I've got this Net Nanny internet security and I don't know the password. Okay this is going to be real simple! All you have got to do is go to the Wikipedia:Requests for adminship page and go to nominate and got to Nominate someone else and leave me to fill in the qustions and notify me on my talk page and have my requst for adminship link and when I've filled It in I'll notify you again and you put it on the Requsts for adminship page. Deletion of Fogo de Chão

Hi Pascal,

Last month you deleted this article that I created under CSD:G11. I believe that the deletion was not in order as the article was not spam or advertising (although some editors subsequent to myself had added in rather a lot about the menu) and should have been trimmed not deleted. Will you consider restoring the article? If you do and let me know I will trim out the spam and improve it. If not, I will list it at WP:DRV. Stifle (talk) 11:44, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why??

Why did you ban User:Ps3ps3? That user did not commit any crime!! He is innocent and I command you to lift that ban or else! If you are wondering, I am not his friend, but protecting those who did nothing wrong. You are abusing your authority to ban other users. You are unjust and not fair! Think about it: Are you doing the right thing by banning those who are innocent?

Cheers, Goldenstatewarroirs 01:08, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Spot zoning

Hello, I removed redirect because the targeted article does not cover spot zoning. Spot zoning is sufficiently complex and distinguishable from zoning proper to warrant its own article. If it should be included into zoning later on after spot zoning article has been completed, then a merge would be appropriate.

After I removed the redirect I saw that you're an admin. Can you remove the vandalism banner? The editor who initially put it up did so in error, which he mentions on the article's talk page. Thank you.EECavazos 14:50, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

POV pushing by MoritzB

Hello. I think that User:MoritzB has gone too far. On Race and intelligence he inserted an extremely offensive quote from a Sunday Times interview with James D. Watson. I am sure that MoritzB is quite aware that the quote generated a furore in Britain with statements by government ministers and a cancelled event at the science museum in London. Watson was forced to retract the statement and make a public apology; yet the quote remained in the article. MoritzB quietly sat by without making further comment. I am appalled that an editor thinks that obvious unscientific tittle-tattle like this, from somebody who is well-known to be intentionally outspoken and provocative, is suitable for this encyclopedia. MoritzB has not responded on either the article discussion page or on his own talk page. It would seem from this that MoritzB has a definite racist agenda, which smacks of the far right. Can anything be done? --Mathsci 06:12, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to your comment on my talk page: I am far too busy in real life to do what you suggested. You did not do so yourself last time you made a report about MoritzB on WP:AN/I. Do special laws apply to you? --00:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mathsci (talkcontribs)

I agree - while R&T isn't particularly well known, it's a very significant label in the mid-90s indie scene as it was the US label for a number of significant UK & Canadian bands, and the article doesn't seem particularly spammy - I'll userify it to User:Chubbles/Razor & Tieiridescent 15:33, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We (Patrick Norman & myself) own all of the rights (all right reserved et al.)for any and all things relating to his projects "Patrick Norman" and "Patrick Norman Music". As an owner and founding member of the band "Rusted Root", Patrick Norman also owns all copyrights (all right reserved, et al.) pertaining to his band Rusted Root. This article was created to give readers an accurate biography of Patrick Norman, not only as a solo artist, but also a current member of Rusted Root. RE: Deletion of Fit-PC

You cited "Blatant advertising. Pages which exclusively promote some entity and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic." But you excised the following sentence, "Note that simply having a company or product as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion." And that's all it was. The page was deleted months before, at which point it was advertising (not my creation at that time). The page I put up was simply information. It contained not a single value judgment regarding the quality of the product. Please undelete. Lucy1981 07:13, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Right... Quoting from Wikipedia:Free speech,
In short, Editing Wikipedia is a privilege, not a right; there is no right to edit Wikipedia. As difficult as it is to accept, and as harsh as it sounds to say it, there are only two rights on Wikipedia: the right to fork and the right to leave.

The Features

Please restore the article for my (BBC) favorite (PopMatters) band. If it's just a matter of not having enough source material, let me know and I'll edit it, but it would be nice to have a place to start from. I can also say that their music has been used as the background for at least one commercial (CBS), they got dropped from their label for refusing to cover All You Need Is Love for a Chase credit card commercial (an option eventually given to Nada Surf, a band that IS on Wikipedia) and they do the theme to the ABC TV show Carpoolers. This more than meets the standards for a band, because they've toured extensively in England and nationwide in the US. They've also had major US radio airplay with their song "Blow It Out". Here's their page on MTV--Vcalzone 15:38, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD of Image:Jonouchi Linework.jpg

Hi. I was wondering if you could reconsider the CSD for Image:Jonouchi Linework.jpg. Three other images from this same contributer were CSDed as being invalid fair-use and copyright violations: Image:Anzu Linework.jpg, Image:Kaiba Linework.jpg, Image:Yugi Linework.jpg. With this one, someone new to doing CSDed changed the license on this one not realizing the others had already been removed or the copyright infringement. He apologized and suggested I CSD again under the copyright violation, which I did. This image, like the, others violates copyrights and seems to be stolen goods (online distribution of non-public domain art work that is still actively sold and traded). I hope you will reconsider this CSD. Thanks. Collectonian 17:30, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mao1970.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mao1970.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:49, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Socker

Not sure if you noticed when you removed recent trolling [6] on your discussion page that the user Ps45 [7] , is almost definitely a sock puppet account of the user Ps3ps3, which you recently banned. [8] This puppet account, as well as another sock puppet account you banned, Goldenstatewarroirs [sic], [9] both have modified my user/talk pages in the past, the most recent not necessarily being vandalism, just more trolling, obviously the user retrieved my user name after I reverted vandalism to Philistines made under the Goldenstatewarriors account Brando130 17:04, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI

Please look at this which recently came up on the ANI board. I am also still getting the "reset password" e-mails from WikiMedia, stating that IP address 63.3.10.130 wants it changed. It is now, as you can see from the link, happening with other users. Any way you can stop the IP's in that range (it's also 63.3.10.1 and 63.3.10.2) sending e-mails to wiki@wikimedia.org? Image deletion

When you delete an image because it is on commons, would you mind carefully checking to make sure that they have the same name? If they don't, then your deletion removes the image from the article. The image in question is Image:Bell207.jpg, which you deleted, and Image:Bell 207.jpg which is on commons (in this case, the difference is a space between the mfr and model number). If there is a difference, please take the time to fix the article rather than leave it with a redlink where there once was an image. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 05:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amy Miranda deletion ?

Hello Pascal,

I'm a bit confused at your deletion of the article on Amy Miranda. She is a well known and awarded producer of online work in the advertising industry. Like other producers I think the article belongs on Wikipedia as it is a good reference of both her work and her background for those interested.

Maybe there is something I can change in the page to have something more appropriate for encyclopedia ? Could you please undelete so that the article may be edited to address your comments?

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Transcendz (talkcontribs) 06:45, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article has a clearly inappropriate tone. Wikipedia is not a soapbox and this was clearly written as a promo-piece. Like I said in the deletion summary, I have no objection to a re-created article that is truly attributed to reliable third-party sources and which is not a thinly-veiled attempt at glorification of the subject. Please undelete this image. The article Mel Hunter (the artist who created the illustration) now references this image. When the image is undeleted, I will add another fair use rationale for this article. Thanks in advance! FusionKnight 03:48, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Old Troll, New Tricks

Would you mind taking a look at some of the recent edits [10] from our old buddy Beko. On a couple of recent occasions, he has either undone vandalism within a minute or two in the pages he usually haunts or requested a page protection immediately following an event of vandalism. Not surprisingly, the anon vandals fall in the same IP range (usually 86.something or 81.something) and share Beko's spelling oddities. The most obvious case is the edits to TUGs on November 13 - the page is vandalized at 20:11, and Beko makes his first edit of the day to undo it one minute later, which he follows up with a request for the page to be protected. A similar thing happened on the 16th - Fireman Sam is vandalized at 20:54, a bot immediately reverts it, and Beko asks for protection a few minutes later. I don't know if you have checkuser permission, but I'd bet my house his IP matches the anon vandal.

The section title is a bit deceiving, because I think he's done similar stunts with some of his shill/puppet accounts in the past [11] [12] [13].

Sorry to bother you with this twit (again), but the behavior is so bizarre that I'm not sure where to report it, and my patience with the reporting process is limited at best. Since you're already aware of this joker, I figured you would be more able to quickly recognize the pattern here than a random admin.

Thanks. Majorclanger (talk) 23:10, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response Insurance

I understand what you are saying about the images...I mistakenly put the incorrect licensing info on the image.

In regards to the article being an advertisement, I would have to disagree! The only inforamtion given is the name of the holding company, the logo they use, and a survey that they do about driving habits. There is no mention of Response Insurance being better than any other insurance co. and there is also no mention of the rates, service, or why people should switch. This is the first time I have ever posted anything on Wikipedia, but I have made this article as neutral as possible, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what to change to make it more neutral and less of an apparent advertisement. Please advise...--Shawkey3 (talk) 15:28, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way I do not work for Response Insurance...I am just assisting someone who asked me to do this.--Shawkey3 (talk) 15:40, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of Live in Cleaveland

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Live in Cleaveland, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Live in Cleaveland is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Live in Cleaveland, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Response Insurance

I disagree with the fact that the section about their national survey is as you call it a "glowing paragraph"...For example the entire Geico page is basically a list of all the commercials they have done, which I think constitutes advertisement. In regards to Response, they conduct a yearly survey on driving habits that is used in various mediums. This is not promoting Response Insurance, it is outlining what the company has done in the past and present. The information used on the Response page is all public knowledge that has no copyright issues...there description of the logo, how they were formed, and the surveys they conduct. This page has been rewritten and all the articles in the survey section have been referenced, and I urge you to reconsider the deletion. In regards to the images that were deleted, I will correct the copyright issue.--Shawkey3 (talk) 16:33, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A big sarcastic thanks!

Your page does NOT indicate the importance or significance of what its supposed to do! However, I believe my article on Judith Gibbins was very imformative! I am sure many people would like to know who the heck the voice was of Lara Croft in 97-98 and what happened to her! If you go around deleting pages then I'm sure you can go around re-writing them to make them "indicate" their "significance"

Not a joke

The article William Buckels was not a Joke Article.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Myscarygirl.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Myscarygirl.jpg.

Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:33, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Bloody Hell, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. Hi, can you explain why you left the AFD link as a redlink at Red Hot Reiner Peppers? MIB School of Management

I have re-edited the page in order to avoid copyright violations. As I was asked by the school to prepare this page there was no 'real' violation anyhow I undestand your position. Now this should be ok. Let me know. --Roberto.pugliese (talk) 13:14, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Deadly Echoes was not released by any major, but it will be released soon. I understand your position, but I think there are not so many bands in that genre that are still working or that are having a good activity like STQ-3. If you have any suggestion in order not to delete this page, please let me know. —Misc prog 12:34, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Steven Greer's page

Hi, I just wanted to inform you that somebody deleted and redirected Steven Greer's page. Please take the appropriate steps to undo this change. Can we put a protection on this page in order to prevent it from vandalism? Thank you. I-netfreedOm (talk) 14:53, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, an other admin undid the changes. I-netfreedOm (talk) 19:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please. Could you restore the image so I can make an attempt to save it? Philly jawn (talk) 15:22, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kaenon Polarized

Hello Pascal, First & foremost, please don't be so demeaning & condescending when you are reviewing user posts especially when you are incorrect. Thanks in advance.

So I am curious as to why my page was deleted. I stated that I am not an employee of the company (I'm not) and just a passionate user of their products and that many of my facts were taken from the company website. I was in the process of adding factual information such as athletes & celebrities that use their products. Furthermore, the entry was extremely similar to the page of Oakley Inc, who is one of their competitors. Why is Oakley allowed to have a page but Kaenon is not? Especially considering that the Oakley page mentioned much information about the founders, revenue, etc - that seems pretty self-fulfilling if you ask me!
