"Leavin'"
Song

"Leavin'" is a song written and produced by Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream[3], and recorded by American singer Jesse McCartney. It is the lead single from McCartney's third studio album Departure (May 20, 2008), and it was sent to the U.S. mainstream radios on March 10 2008.[1]

Release

The single was released on iTunes on April 22. The single has since reached number 3 on iTunes Top Songs.

The single is currently available on the UK iTunes. The UK release of the single has been said to be released on June 9, 2008 according to Jesse's Official UK Site (www.jesse-mccartney.co.uk) followed by his album Departure on June 16th 2008. The UK download has been released via 7digital and the music video is currently receiving heavy airplay on music video channels across the UK. Another version of this song features new verses by McCartney and is often played on Radio Disney. A remix of this song features Baby Bash.

Music video

Tommy2 confirmed that the music video for "Leavin'" was shot on February 17 2008 and was directed by Sanji, who also directed his "She's No You" video.[4]

The video premiered on March 7th on Yahoo! Music.[5]

No statement has been issued from Disney Channel, after being reported that the video was banned from being played on the channel due to its extreme sexuality. It is unknown if Disney Channel is planning to promote his new album. It has peaked at #1 on the MuchOnDemand Daily Countdown.

It begins with Jesse and a girl sitting in chairs opposite each other. Jesse is wearing an unbuttoned shirt and she is wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a thong. After staring at each other, the girl gets up and climbs suggestively onto Jesse's lap. The second verse has Jesse wearing only pants and the girl's wearing a bra and underwear, rolling around, frolicking on a mattress. They begin to heat up, at one point, it is assumed that they're simulating sexual intercourse and french-kissing. The video ends with Jesse and the girl kissing in a car. Throughout the chorus, Jesse is shown in a bluish-white room.
