Guitar
Is her guitar made of koa wood? Badagnani 00:43, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes. It's made by Taylor Guitars. Badagnani 22:53, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
This article contradicts itself on when she started writing. One line says age 12, the other says age 10. any verification on which it is?
it should be 12
"Teardrops On My Guitar"
This song was inspired by a true event during Taylor's time in high school. She liked a guy named "Drew Hardwick", who only saw Taylor as a friend and a go-to person for advice about his relationship with his current girlfriend.
This can be confirmed by Taylor herself in this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3lyBXrzR3s —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lefty04628 (talk • contribs) 19:38, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Is there any reason the name Drew Hardwick is in quotation marks? Holford (talk) 00:30, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- "Some people" just "like" to "overuse" "quotation marks" for "no" reason. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 00:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Because of the use-mention distinction - the sentence is about the name "Drew Hardwick," not the person Drew Hardwick.VoluntarySlave (talk) 00:51, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't want to get into an edit war over this. The sentence and the song are about a person, Drew Hardwick. Neither are not about the name Drew Hardwick. To say that he has a particular name is simply to identify that particular person. It makes no sense to say that it is about the name. You can have a song about a name, e.g. "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash (though even this could arguably be said to be about the person and not the name), but this is not an example of that. Holford (talk) 12:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree the song is about the person, but the sentence as currently structured is about the fact that the person in question has a particular name, namely, "Drew Hardwick." To write "The song is about a person named Drew Hardwick" would be incorrect, because it states that Drew Hardwick is his own name; obviously that's wrong, because Drew Hardwick is a person, not a name. We could say "The song is about Drew Hardwick," but I kind of feel phrasing it that way implies that we expect people to know who Drew Hardwick is. Actually, I don't know if we need to mention the person's name explicitly at all. VoluntarySlave (talk) 17:12, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Opinionated user
Does anyone have any idea who the user is that keeps adding vandalism to Taylor Swift's article. When I saw this article, this genius user wrotr profanity at the bottom of her page. They also wrote on the discography section; "to view an exhaustive list of her discography", which was so opinionated. This is an encyclopedia, if you can't follow the rules, don't write for us! Will someone who has the authority to, block this user, maybe they will learn a lesson from this. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 23:16, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- "Exhaustive" is a synonym for "complete". It doesn't mean anything negative. I've changed it to "complete" to avoid any confusion. Kaldari (talk) 18:49, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
