I believe your image: is captioned incorrectly. In 1941 there was no holder of the peerage, Duke of York, as it lapsed to the Crown on December 11, 1936 when the Duke became George VI of the United Kingdom. I am also skeptical of the date that is listed as the date on which the photograph was taken. No Counsellors of State were appointed in 1941 therefore making it very unlikely that the King was out of the country, even unofficially. The most likely senario is that the date is incorrect and that the photograph is of George VI as Duke of York taken sometime before he became King. Another possibility is that the picture is of one of George VI's brothers. The abdicated Edward VIII was Governor-General of the Bahamas during the War and was known to make visits to the United States with his American wife. Just an fyi. Demoares (talk) 09:31, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

translation help

Hi there, I'm writing Hamburg related S-Bahn and U-Bahn railway station stubs and don't know the translation for the german word Kehrgleis. A track behind/after the station were the trains can stop and have a rest (coffee and or smoke ;-) and than change the direction. It's not a loop and often used after island platforms. I've tried to describe it, but it sounds a bit ... german ... (see Othmarschen railway station) Maybe you can help ? Thx Sebastian scha. (talk) 18:01, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in the middle of a referencing spree right now, but I'll take a look tonight. Slambo (Speak) 18:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ack, I need to get an answer to this. I'm not ignoring it, just finding that other urgent tasks are popping up. Slambo (Speak) 11:08, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Infoboxes

Hi Slambo, I noticed that your a member of this project and I need some advice. I have another editor resizing an infobox image repeatedly (downsizing it). I reverted and linked to the Manual of Style for Infoboxes which states that the image size should be 300px. The other editor stated on their revert that the guideline is only a suggestion not a rule. What's your thoughts? Thanks! Shinerunner (talk) 23:28, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:GE monogram logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:GE monogram logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done - There's a better version of the same logo at Image:General Electric logo.svg, so I deleted this one as a duplicate unused non-free image. Slambo (Speak) 11:04, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd wondered about that, I probably should've looked it up - I'll remember to avoid putting references in titles in future. Hope to contribute more in future :-) Danny252 (talk) 22:53, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
