Do Aur Do Paanch (English: 2 + 2 = 5) is a 1980 Hindi movie produced by C. Dhandyadupani and directed by Rakesh Kumar. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Shreeram Lagoo, Om Prakash and Kader Khan.

Synopsis

Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Sunil (Shashi Kapoor) are rival burglars who end up at the same place, at the same time whenever they attempt a robbery. As a result they both get caught and are imprisoned.

On release from prison, Vijay finds out about a plot to kidnap a millionaire Seth Mathur (Shreeram Lagoo)'s son Bittu by an underworld boss popularly known as 'Uncle Jagdish' (Kader Khan) who calls all his henchmen 'Bhatijas' (nephews). Vijay decides to try it himself. Uncle has an old enemity with the Seth. Due to repeated attempts to kidnap his son, Seth provides elaborate security for Bittu all the time. On advice of a school teacher, he gets his son admitted at a nearby boarding school. Vijay procures fake certificates and joins the boarding school as a PE Instructor named Ram. Meanwhile coincidentally Sunil gets released from Jail and gets advised by "Uncle" Jagdish to also join the boarding school as Music Teacher Lakshman. The rest of the movie focuses on how how Ram and Lakshman try to out-do each other to kidnap the little boy. Ram gets involved with Principal's daughter Anju (Parveen Babi) and Lakshman gets involved with a fellow-teacher Shalu. (Hema Malini) All hell breaks loose when Anju and Shalu discover Ram and Laxshman's true identities. Now they want them to set the right the wrong. How will Uncle take this? Will the ex-burglars turn into nice guys? How do they stop Uncle from executing his dirty scheme?
