[[Francisco Balagtas Elementary School]] (FBES) is a public elementary school located at Ipil Street corner Alvarez Street in Sta. Cruz, [[Manila]] which was erected in honor of [[Francisco Baltazar]], a great [[Filipino]] poet. The school was hit by a fire in May 2007 engulfing almost the entire school building. Some masterpiece of Balagtas which was then exhibited inside the school museum was forever lost and destroyed during the blaze. The school is considered as one of the oldest elementary school in the City of Manila.
