Peace River is a town in northwestern Alberta, Canada on the Peace River, near its confluence with the Smoky River. Its population is aprox. 7,000.

The population was around 980 people in 1921, with the population picking up about 1946.

The original part of the town lies on a flood plain in the Peace River valley, while it has also expanded to areas on higher ground, mostly to the west of the town.

The principal industries in the area are agriculture, forestry and oil and gas, while a pulp mill is also nearby. Facilities and services in the area include an indoor swimming pool, indoor arena, library, several hotels and restaurants. The town also manages a municipal airport (CYPE).
