Noorzai or Nurzai (Urdu: نور زئی) are one of the major tribes of the Pashtun. Noorzai are descendants of the Durrani as they have been living in Afghanistan for hundreds of years. The Noorzai live in places such as Kandahar, Kabul, Farah, Helmand, Herat, Nimroz, and some parts of Pakistan. These tribes are greatly akcnowledged in Afghan society. All the historical references show that Noorzai are the descendents of Durrani, Abdali Tribe, Sultanzai, Samezai, Ghurg, Safozai, Jamalzai, Samezai, Mashingzai, Kulezai, Bahadurzai, Pathankhail, Meeralizai and Faqirzai are sub branches of Noorzai.Samezais are considered as the head and most honorable sub tribe of Noorzai Clan. bes]]in Balochistan pakistan head of noorzai Mulana niaz mohammad .
