India edits

Hi! Please could you not use the Indian flag as a background for mainspace edits as you were trying to do on the India page? Thanks! =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:11, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Flag in India article

Why are you trying to add the Indian flag over the Wikipedia logo? Any good reason? Please do not take such arbitrary deicios that spol the structure of Wikipedia pages. Just becasue you feel that The flag looks good.It should be on all country pages. Such drastic changes cannot be done without proper discussion on Wikipedia. And there is a flag anyway, so what is the need for another one right behind the wikipedia logo? --Deepak D'Souza (talk • contribs) 10:20, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to the India WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of India.

A few features that you might find helpful:

• Please participate in any of our descendant workgroups that might interest you.
• The project has a bimonthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered in its entirety, but several other formats are available.

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

• Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every India article in Wikipedia.
• Can you code? The automation department uses automated and semi-automated methods to perform batch tasks that would be tedious to do manually.

AFD nominations

• Nobody's going to block you for CSD nominations -- especially not if you read the categories carefully and only tag obvious candidates for speedy deletion. But I just had to close 3 of your AFD nominations for articles that were obvious speedy-delete candidates. I'd rather not have to do that extra work. I would agree; we appreciate your contributions to the project, but there are easier ways to get nonsense, vandalism, and other pages removed. It creates extra work if we have to close individual discussions when a page can just be deleted per WP:CSD.  Frank  |  talk  11:29, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
