Proposed deletion of Andrew Roberts (businessman)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Andrew Roberts (businessman), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Requests for deletion

Thank you for your response for my “requests for deletion”. Please feel free to move the articles into AFD if you disagree with my assessment.

I still do believe that this is a hoax mainly because:

  • The “184th richest person” claim is obviously wrong. I supplied the link to the Sunday Times rich list, and Andrew Roberts is simply not on there.
  • I could not find any matches for Roberts_Investments_Group in Google, Google News (including business section), Forbes or Financial times.
  • Even for a private investment company not even having a listed phone number is highly suspicious.

In my PVO, there are also a number of other factors that are suspicious:

  • The Roberts_Investments_Group is flash intensive, but looks very amateurishly build. Pictures on the home page are stock pictures – we have a similar selection on the intranet at work to spice up our PowerPoints.
  • The “Financial statements” are laughable. Also, even if this is an unlisted company that is not under stock exchange supervision, the lack of any mention of their audit company is odd, to say the least.
  • The http://www.howardartgallery.com/ website has most likely been build using the same Flash template as the RIG one.
  • The only featured picture is a blank page – someone must be following in Yoko Ono’s footsteps, here.

I am strongly suspecting that someone has, for whatever motives, constructed a very elaborate hoax here.

Of course, my theory could easily be disproved if the articles would be amended with a few reliable links, other than to the two suspected hoax sites.

Also, my opinion ultimately does not matter and I am not the judge of this. If you disagree, I suggest you move these articles into the AFD process and to let the administrators decide.
