::I think the folks on the Help Desk advised that a complete list might be worthwhile if verifiable info could be found for each item on the list so that articles could eventually be written. I know one fellow who has created article stubs for each individual town in Germany, so there's no reason why you can't create a list of SCR radios. OK Brian, I have created a page in your userspace for you to edit and fool around with: if you want to work on making a list of SCR's. When you are ready you can simply move it into "live" article space. This way, no one will delete it while you get the article in shape. - LuckyLouie (talk) 12:51, 18 July 2008 (UTC) |

Speedy deletion of K-list
A tag has been placed on K-list requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CultureDrone (talk) 17:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
evedently I messed up already, not real sure how to link to another wiki page, Brian in denver (talk) 19:02, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Easy - just put the name of the page you want to link to inside double square brackets. So, if you wanted to link to the word Brian, you'd type Brian. GBT/C 19:43, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
yep did that, but it didnt take, I think becouse the other wiki is a different site? maybe?Brian in denver (talk) 19:55, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

this page http://ww2dodge.com/enwiki/w/index.php?title=K-list Brian in denver (talk) 20:28, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
OK - for an external link, then, you'd use single square brackets, and at the end of the link type in a descriptive name, so that Google would end up looking like : Google. GBT/C 20:36, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and what I should add is that links like the one you added here to an external site would be best going under the External Links section further down the page. The See Also section is generally used for internal links to other wikipedia pages. GBT/C 21:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
yep that worked ok, but aint what I had in mind, I'm half tempted to move the list over to this site, theres a bunch of stuff I'd like to cross reference, not really sure why bert did his own site. one thing about WWII lists, you can cross reference them forever, dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. Brian in denver (talk) 21:13, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm - well, moving information over from another site to this site could be a copyright-issue - I'm not particularly hot on that sort of thing, but if you think that it's a way of improving Wikipedia then you could ask at the help desk and see if someone who knows more about it than I reckons it's do-able...I'm heading off now, but if you want to catch me in the future then either leave a message here or on my talk page. well I cant believe no ones ever put up a Signal Corps Radio page, its kinda basic to the subject aint it? there are about 800 SCR-designated radio's some of them perty famous , like the handy talky, the walky talky, ect. seems like there should be a way to cross referance them all.Brian in denver (talk) 16:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
SCR299
Hi Brian. No, I'm not a military radio buff, just helping out by writing a few radio articles here and there, SCR-536 among them. Personally I am not interested in compiling a comprehensive list of military radios, but if that is a project you wish to undertake, I'm sure one page e.g. "List of SCR radio sets" would accomplish it. (PS: I sense you are new to Wikipedia, so you may want to avoid using carriage returns since they make the articles look a mess, and messy articles tend to get ignored and often deleted.) - LuckyLouie (talk) 21:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- ok will try to figure that out. we were talking about a list on the help page, dont know if we came to any conclusions, Brian in denver (talk) 21:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think the folks on the Help Desk advised that a complete list might be worthwhile if verifiable info could be found for each item on the list so that articles could eventually be written.
