I would like to see the expanded version of the Pennywise wiki entry include some information on their relationship with this show and chronicle the incidents that occurred on air. I know they were banned for 3 years from the show when their bass player (might have been someone else) got drunk and vomited on Dr. Drew, then as soon as they were invited back the same band member again got drunk and threatened to "go too poo city" (basically, shit his pants then grab a handful and throw it on someone.) They were again banned from the show. I don't know the exact dates of this, but I feel it is worthy of being added to the article if someone has more information on it. (Edit, whoops, forgot to sign my name.) Machine Man 16:08, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

It's Fletcher Dragge. Both incidents are listed here. However, I didn't see any citations. --BrettxPW (talk) 22:40, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Epitaph records isn't a Major label. Why is there a whole section whose title implies that Epitaph is one of the big four?Delirium of disorder 16:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are contradictory elements in this article. It says that the bass player guy accidentally commited suicide, but lower down it says he 'took his own life'

I think you'll find that "to take one's own life" is another way of saying "to commit suicide", whether or not it's accidental. BigHaz - Schreit mich an (Review me) 11:42, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- Someone screwed up when they said that "Society" was a track on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (as in the first one). It was actually Top Skater. I fixed it, and I know there were more, but I can't for the life of me remember what they were. Little help?

 • Removed the comment " (because they were never main-streamed) " at the end of the discography, since i can't see a reason for it to be there.

--Hey, ah I think the comment Full Circle and Straight Ahead were not as popular as the previous records is highly inaccurate. Full Circle was their highest selling record and reached the top 100 on the billboard charts if I'm not mistaken. If anything, the band grew in popularity after '97 and Full Circle.

this paragraph is false:

As of May 2006, Pennywise is currently taking a break and will start/continue writing their ninth studio album, which is likely to be released in 2007. However, at the moment, no details about the album are known and plans to record it have been announced.

they are touring like crazy right now, check their website. thanks.

I just fixed it anyway. 69.12.166.40 20:03, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wildcard release date

To this anonymous editor, 62.166.93.180, would you please provide a source for a 1992 release date for this EP? The EP is Pennywise's earliest works and it was recorded in 1988, sometime after the band formed. 1992 is the release date when it appeared on Wildcard/A Word From the Wise. As I said before, would you please provide a source for 1992 as the release date for the Wildcard EP? 69.12.166.40 22:33, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there,

The band consist from 1998, but their first 7' was A word from the wise with Final Chapters (this is the first song ever written by Pennywise). The songs on Wilcard 7' are recorded in 1989, but are released in 1992 on Theologian Records. I spoke to Mark Theodore and he said the first release of Wilcard was in 1992. After the release in 1992 they a compilation cd and that's the cd Wilcard/A word from the wise.

The Wilcard 7' could never been released in 1988, because the songs are recorded in 1989! But the songs are bad so the band didn't release immediately after they recorded the songs.

Covers

There should be a section for songs covered by Pennywise on the article.

The Wildcard 7 is not out of print. Just look at the www.theologianrecords.com. I also contacted Marc Theodore from Theologian and he also said they still print the Wildcard 7!

Band Name

Can anyone actually confirm that the band is named after that Stephen King novel? I heard the band was named Penny Wisdom originally, but decided to cut the name down. So I think that bit about where the name originated from is bull. Chewbacca1010 06:25, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

pennywisdom.com no longer

the domain has not been renewed...i'm curious if the band has finished.

No, I don't think they have finished. However, in a recent interview with gutiarist Fletcher Dragge he said the band has a new album coming out next year. Alex 01:07, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The website has now been renewed. (If anyone was wondering).

November 10

I did some editing, just tightening, and accidently marked it minor. Apologies. BabuBhatt 00:00, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Every 30 years

In the novel 'IT', the clown Pennywise, from whom the band take their name, appears every thirty years or so. Shouldn't the band keept to this schedule by releasing an album every thirty years or so?

..... moron....

Album covers in Discography section

Album covers do not meet criteria 3a or 8 of the Non-free content criteria when used in a list or gallery and have been removed from the article. More information about the removal of album covers from discographies can be found at User:Durin/Fair use overuse explanation. ~ BigrTex 22:46, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MySpace/Ninth Record

If you read the linked article it doesnt say they signed with MySpace records but that the album will be available for free through a partnership with Myspace and textango. and that it will be sold in stores. it doesnt state that the album will be sold on epitaph, but on penynwises myspace page they still list Epitaph as there label and Myspace Records doesnt list them as a signed artist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ucscottb4u (talkcontribs) 18:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a relief. I'm fixing that. For a second I thought I'd have to stop listening to them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.39.32.138 (talk) 23:09, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
