Southern Star is owned by Compañía de Cemento Argos, S.A. and Cementos del Caribe, S.A., both of which are based in Colombia, South America. Both companies are subsidaries of Inversiones Argos, which in turn belongs to a larger conglomerate called Grupo Empresarial Antioqueño based in Medellin, Colombia.
