The Sugababes' forthcoming studio album is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on 20 October 2008. The album's lead single, "Girls", is scheduled to be released on 6 October 2008.[1]
Background
After they had completed the Change Tour in May 2008, the Sugababes announced that they would not go back into the recording studio until September 2008 to work on their next album.[citation needed] However, on 15 June, 2008, Keisha Buchanan told an interviewer that the group would start work on a new album straight away due to opportunities to record with new producers.[citation needed]
Music and style
The Sugababes' new album has been described as having a "more funkier" sound by Orson's lead singer Jason Pebworth, who has been working with the group in the recording studio.[2] In an interview, the Sugababes described the album as having a more mellow and mature sound which focuses mainly on their vocals.[3]
Release and reception
The Sugababes starting recording the album on 17 June 2008 and less than a month later at the annual Summer pops in Liverpool they announced that the lead single was finished and was "amazing". The title of the lead single, "Girls", was revealed on 11 August, 2008 by Popjustice and is scheduled to be released on 6 October 2008.[4][1]
