"Untouched" is an electro pop song written by Jessica Origliasso and Lisa Origliasso, produced by Gad for The Veronicas second album Hook Me Up (2007). The Veronicas state the song is about a "long distance relationship and having to interact over the technology of today, talking to some one on the phone, seeing them on video chat etc, but not being able to physically touch them." It was released as the album's second single in Australia on December 10, 2007 as a CD single and digital download and became their fifth top ten single peaking at number two on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.

Release and chart performance

The song was released to Australian radio on November 21, 2007 and became the most added song to radio for that week.[1] The song debuted on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart at number four on December 17, 2007.[2] The following week it moved up to number two, and stayed there for three weeks behind Timbaland presents OneRepublic song "Apologize" and became the seventy-eighth highest selling single in Australia for 2007.[3]

The song debuted at number sixteen on the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles on July 5, 2008.[4] The song was featured on an episode on both the Australian and American versions of television program So You Think You Can Dance.

Music video

The music video for the song was filmed at the Marble Bar in Sydney’s Hilton Building and it took eighteen hours to film with fifty extras dressed in gothic glamour.[5] The video starts with a lot of pictures in the hallway. It goes to the band performing and a crowd in front of them. Jess and Lisa are in the hallway singing. They meet a man later. In the chorus, Jess and Lisa performed with the rest of the group. The sisters are hanging around with the man but after a while, they walk away. The music video was released on December 3, 2007 to Australian music channel shows. The video made it's debut on MTV TRL as a first look on July 9, 2008 [6] and a week later made it's debut on the countdown at #10 [7].
