: Oppose. The Ankyrin article concerns both the family of gene and the proteins encoded by this family of gene. The ANK1, ANK2, and ANK3 articles deal with the individual family members. This merger proposal is equivalent to proposing that the California article be merged into the United States. Cheers. Merge ANK1 into thispage
ANK1 should be merged into Ankyrin - while Ankyrin is the protein and ANK1 one of the genes that produce it, that page doesn't talk so much about the gene as about the protein. So it's unclear why both should exist.

- Oppose. The Ankyrin article concerns both the family of gene and the proteins encoded by this family of gene. The ANK1, ANK2, and ANK3 articles deal with the individual family members. This merger proposal is equivalent to proposing that the California article be merged into the United States. Cheers. Boghog2 (talk) 22:14, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
