Basketball

Spains's men's basketball team qualified for the Olympics as the reigning world champions, having won the 2006 FIBA World Championship. It will be the men's team's eleventh Olympic appearance. Recently, controversy has surrounded an official Olympic photo made by the men's basketball team using the "slant-eyes" gesture.

The women's team finished second at the EuroBasket Women 2007, and will be one of twelve teams vying for the final five Olympic spots at the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women 2008.

The 12-player roster for the Spain Men's Basketball Senior National Team was announced on 9 June 2008.[5]

The 12-player roster for the Spain Women's Basketball Senior National Team was announced on 15 July 2008.[6]
