Photo Removals
Obviously some people want to take charge of this page and really enforce the wikipedia standards on the photo policy, which unfortunately means less images. I would like to at least see a photo of the SC model or the completely painted panel version on here, but all my photos were taken down by Roguegeek,a user that I will not argue with the latter portion of his name, pretty much stalked my profile and decided to become the wikipedian police on me. Long story short, someone who can upload photos correctly, please dress this page up a bit, the Element deserves it.Pumapayam 17:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- This article could absolutely use more images considering the features the Element has to offer. Let's just hope they pass fair use criteria WP:FUC because, as most editors here know, they must. Better yet, let's see some awesome free use images. Roguegeek (talk) 20:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Honda Element Community Link
Does anyone know what happened to HondaElement.org community page? If it shut down, I guess we show remove it.
- Yes. They let the domain name expire nearly two months ago.
- So when are we going to get it back, will it come back?Pumapayam 14:20, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Removed unsourced Major Drawback comment
I removed the unsourced "major drawback" section. I did not find a reference for the Elements payload capacity but it's towing capacity is 1500 pounds [1] the section can be replace if verifiable references supporting it can be found. Jeepday 00:04, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
I put the drawback section back in the article and added a reference. The Element uses the CRV's chasis, which has a load capacity of 900 lbs, but the Element has a heavier body and for some reason Honda didn't compensate with a beefier suspension. Perhaps the will fix this major goof up on later models. One of the dealers at my local Honda dealership said that the low weight capacity has lost them a lot of potential sales, so this year they are only going to have 3 Elements on the lot instead of the 20 they had last year.IG-2000 20:50, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reference:) Based on original research I have not found a significant power issue with the 03 Element. It looks like a suspension issue per your refence, but (In My Opinion) the section does not make it clear that is a suspension issue not a power issue so kind of looks wrong against the 1500 pound towing capacity. Maybe a slight edit on the text? Jeepday 21:48, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Major Drawbacks
One major drawback of the Honda Element is the extremely low weight capacity. The Element can only hold 675 pounds, including passengers. Even though the Element is a four-seater, it is easily over-loaded with four adult passengers.
- May I suggest placing it somewhere, where it makes sense, or does this only affect the 2007 model. I find it hard to believe that a 2003 model can carry more weight than the 2007. Make the effort and put it in the correct spot, or I will remove it, as its place in the article makes absolutely no sense in "2007".Pumapayam 17:28, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- It appears that the section has been moved to a more appropriate area. Jeepday 02:44, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Clarification
Can someone clarify the paragraph just before the contents box? It currently says: "This is a hydraulically-actuated system that operates only when front wheel slippage occurs. It was discontinued in Japan with the 2006 model." Does that mean the four-wheel drive option was discontinued, or the Element was? I can't immediately find a reference that tells me one way or the other. 70.237.234.73 01:31, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
