Article is actually wrong

Since the Khruschev era, Mao and the Soviet Union were not on good terms, and Nixon later courted Mao. Many Soviets feared Chinese invasion during the '60s and '70s, and the Chinese were not part of the true Cold War which was between the Soviet bloc and the American bloc, rather than Communist and Capitalist countries in general.

Actually, you're a dipshit. If you think that an event as large as the Chinese defection to the west could occur without being a "part of the true Cold War", then you're dumber than you write. The Chinese switch to the West forced the Soviet Union to adjust its military's center of balance. An army and a corp were moved off the western front and moved over to the newly intensified southern front, joining the several divisions that were already there. Furthermore, the Chinese worked to thwart Soviet actions elsewhere. Afghan rebels were wearing Chinese sneakers and using Chinese radios. Dumb dumb dumb dumb.

Where is Sikkim?
