Hemmet is a small city and a former municipality (Danish, kommune) in Ringkøbing-Skjern municipality in Region Midtjylland near the west coast of Jutland, having around 6-700 citizens. The word "Hemmet" is from prior danish, meaning "The home". The city Hemmet had a school back in the early 90's but was abolished, because it was a very small school. Afterwards pupils from Hemmet had to go to the private christian school in "Sdr. Vium", 4 km. east of Hemmet and or the public school 5km. south of Hemmet located in "Nr. Bork", where the great "Bork Havn Musikfestival" is being staged.
Great Danish artists come every year at the festival, and even some minor international performers. For many a years, Tom Donovan has supported the festival [1].
Hemmet has it's own harbor, which is about 1000m2 large. At the harbor, each summer a "havnefest" is hold, but it is no where like the on in "Bork Havn".
In Hemmet there's a kindergarden, holding around 100 pupils, but it's soon to be abolished.
Hemmet too has a City Store, owned by the great Danish cooperation ,Coop Norden , who owns most of the Danish market.
Hemmet has it's own Church, which is known wide around by many christian, because of their priest "Martin Jensen", who is quite famous because of his inner mission way of speaking. Not all citizens in Hemmet are christians [2]
The city has a football team located in the 6th series of Danish football. The team is mostly known for it's sociality and the third half. It shares name with the nearby city Sdr. Vium, which Hemmet also bonds with. The football team is called "HSV IF", formerly "HSV '82".
