Bellevue School District No. 405 (short: BSD) is a public school district in King County, Washington, USA and serves the communities of Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Medina, Hunts Point, Yarrow Point, Beaux Arts Village, and portions of Renton, Newcastle, Issaquah, Kirkland and Redmond. As of October 10, 2006, the district has an enrollment of 16,569 students. [1]

Demographics
The Bellevue School District is the most diverse school district on the Eastside. As of October 2007, there were 16,435 students enrolled in the district. The district is 2.5% Black/African American, 25.6% Asian, 7.8% Hispanic, 8.7% Multiracial and 55.0% White. 29.9% of students speak a first language other than English; there are over 74 languages spoken in the district. 9.2% of students are ESL (English as a Second Language) learners. 8.5% are enrolled in various levels of Special Eduacation. 17.1% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch[2].
Programs
Some schools in the district, including Chinook Middle School, have special- or advanced-education programs such as English as a Second Language and AVID[citation needed].
The PRISM Program is located at Stevenson Elementary School and Odle Middle School, run by the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) department in the district. The program now has a high school extension at Interlake High School, which began in the 2006-07 school year.
