The school was founded as a girls' school in [[1966]] and merged with Hoylake Parade Boys School in [[1973]] to become co-educational. The school has been recently rebuilt, with a [[City Learning Centre]] being added on the site. The school is run by miss levenson. Since she took charge exam results have incresed and increased to were they are now (2008) were 78% of students got 5 GCSE's A*-C. |

An new feature to hilbre is a new "drama theatre" which was funded by the schools humanities status and was designed by the music department to be used as a recording studeo. (i mean drama isn't even humanities?!?) |

However the music department needs more funding, as they only recieve about £800 a year and considering that an average keybord costs £100 so that £800 doesn't go very far!!! |
