Pokémon article
I undid your move of "Pokémon (anime)" to "Pokémon (TV series)" because the article also includes discussion of the Pokémon movies and DVD only specials, which are not part of the TV series. You also stated that "Anime is unnecessarily vague" in your move, but I don't see anything vague about it. "Anime" is Japanese animation, and the article covers all of the Pokémon anime. -- HiEv 23:45, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry about that; I didn't go through the history when I reverted your edit. I saw "big block of text removed" and immediately figured it to be vandalism. I didn't think; my apologies. --tennisman 21:43, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey, there, Mr. rules, here's something you should check out before reverting the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by I am a jedi (talk • contribs) 01:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
guess what, it does. quality is how much information it provides minus false info, think about that. I am a jedi (talk) 02:12, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
no sources, then what do you call the "gamespot gave it a this", or, "ign gave it a that", that ends each and every entry? just because you can't see it on the reference page doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I am a jedi (talk) 05:27, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
look, which ever way you want it, ignore or adhere, the article is perfect as is and does NOT need you to say otherwise. i was, of course, saying that we should ignore the rule of putting the sources on the references section, but let the article live as it HAS sources from gaming websites. List of Xbox 360 games
- List of Playstation 3 games both don't include your "Australia" and they were not dumb to take out a whole bunch of important information as you did. I believe you live in "Australia" and is pist that they didn't add "Australia" to the list.
If you take it off you will be block. All the other list of game did not add Australia why should the Wii add Australia? just b/c Australia is not on the list doesnt give you the right to mess up the whole page. You need to stop and go back to what you were doing before you decided to come back and mess uup wiki.--Lbrun12415 04:47, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- N64, Atari, NES, SNES, PSX no one plays does anymore people care out games of this generation not the old.--Lbrun12415 05:18, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- IT doesn't matter every one likes it to be Japan, Europe, and North America nothing else many people find it a lot better that way b/c it indeed does have the more popular places and it indeed also has the fastest release dates. unlike other places which it does indeed take to long to get a release date.
Japan, Europe, and North America get games a lot faster then any were else.--Lbrun12415 05:37, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please see Mario Kart Wii europe got one day after way before anyone else.
I'll show you what I mean so that I wont feel stupid

Simply re-deleting the information is the wrong way to go about this. That's why I proposed an article split to keep the size down and to preserve factual, relevant data. If you could please, explain to everyone why it is that the release dates are not allowed in the article because some of them are missing? Instead of saying "THARS NO AUSTRIA!!1" please come up with an unbiased and sensible point of view. Continuing to act like this will likely get you reported for admin intervention. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 05:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Make a note of this: You treat other editors with complete disrespect, you ignore etiquette and come down on others for falling even slightly out of line and you're participating in an edit war with multiple editors who disagree with your rash decision making. Summarizing your words in "childish banter" is right on the money, you need to grow up and learn to work with other people especially when making major changes. As I said before, you're asking for disciplinary measures from more respectable members of the community
- Note: I by no means consider myself a respectable member of the community, take a look at my editing history and you'll find I've made the same mistakes in the past. The thing is I recognize those actions as the wrong thing to do, and make efforts to keep from repeating them. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 05:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have a question: If Australian release dates are so important to you why are you not making an effort to include them? Removing all the other dates because your favorite is missing is a classic "If I can't win, nobody will" attitude. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 05:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Aww, do you need help? No, seriously, to help ease the tension I'm offering to help you reconstruct the Australian release dates. Just tell me where a few good resources are and I'll pass whatever I find to you along with the reference for them. Although I think first the article should be split, and discussion should veer towards that end. One in the morning? Then get the hell off your computer and go to bed. I only hope you're easier to deal with after some sleep. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 06:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I have never met a person like you before. How does it make you feel that you want to get me blocked after I undid something you did and you are trolling about it. Chill.
As much as it seems like everyone is out to disagree with you, getting heated up and making backhand comments like this and losing your cool really isn't getting you anywhere. Your "friend" may not be so interested in having Australia among the regions listed, but by all means it does not mean it can't be done or not able to be resolved amicably. Going for a deletionist view of removing all other release dates because Australia or S.Africa does not get a fair shake isn't helping, so why not try keep a cool head, and request for a compromise, some middle ground? AfD nomination of List of characters in the Animal Crossing series
I have nominated List of characters in the Animal Crossing series, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of characters in the Animal Crossing series. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Judgesurreal777 (talk) 05:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Comment about your remark towards me
Just because the discussion wasn't harming anyone, doesn't mean it should remain. Guidelines don't need to be ignored just because people aren't "harmed". You didn't need to be uncivil towards me, just because I was trying to help. RobJ1981 (talk) 20:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Working on a little something
Here. I don't know if it'll be satisfactory when completed for a few of the folks, but focusing on the still-incomplete reception section at the moment before going to the rest of the article to make sure that's buffered enough.
Anyway feel free to chime in with any fixes if I screw something up or word something bad as I go, just a head's up and all.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 06:01, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Sonic 8-bit versions.
Yeah, there's a different set of zones, different artwork, etc. By contrast, the two versions of Sonic 1 mostly have the same zones, with just a few that are only found in one version. (The layout of the zones is different even then, though.) Ben Standeven (talk) 14:53, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:WarioWareWario.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:WarioWareWario.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Tien Shinhan or Tienshinhan?

Dragon Ball character names
I haven't been doing much editing lately, so I don't recall how long this bit has been on the articles. What consensus are we using here, and what are we considering as info sources. I ask because the articles tend to currently state that the anime names are used in "most" english adaptations. Are we referring to sources beyond the anime and manga (like toys, games, and other such merchandise)? Onikage725 (talk) 01:44, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not fair to block a merger that has been discussed for a long time in the grounds that you created the article; where have you been that your out of the loop on it in the first place? And besides, what is your actual objection? Judgesurreal777 (talk) 05:32, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Your totally correct, but that isn't the problem; it is the notability problems of the original game, and the thought was we could get FFIII to GA/FA as one article if we combined both articles strengths, because the original game is having a lot of trouble maintaining GA status because it was Japan only. 06:53, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Kirby Super Star Ultra does deserve its own article
The game does in fact deserve its own article, mainly due to the fact of its new gameplay modes. --Drkirby (talk) 06:06, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Drkirby!
- Reasons why Kirby Super Star Ultra needs its own article:
<quote>
I believe that Kirby Super Star Ultra has enough new content to warrant its own new article, so I am starting this survey on behalf of myself and other who wish to discuss opinions on this and why or why not it should or shouldn't get its own article
Please clearly state your position for the separating of the articles *Support to give Kirby Super Star Ultra its own article, or *Oppose to keep it combined, then sign your comment.
Because polling is no substitute for talking about it, please explain your reasons.
- Support With the 2 new sub games added (Along with 3 new mini games) updated graphics, added functionality added to the old sub games, such as bottom screen support and two player multiplayer added to Gourmet Race, are ground enough to justify the game to get its own article. In not merely a straight port, and saying that there is not enough new content to have its own article is comparable to saying Kirby's Adventure and Kirby: Nightmare in dreamland doesn't deserve to be separate (It adds updated Graphics, 1 new mode, and 3 new mini games, less then Kirby Super Star Ultra adds), or FE3 should be merged with the FF1 article, since all it does is update the graphics and adds a new chapter to the story.
Also, the large amount of content is lost between merging and making its own article, as exampled below.
- Kirby Super Star Ultra's article before remergeing: http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Kirby_Super_Star_Ultra&oldid=229721124
- Kirby Super Star Ultra's section after the merge: http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Kirby_Super_Star&oldid=229653176#Remake
--Drkirby (talk) 17:42, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Support I support a separate article. Like the SNES article, they explain the story of each sub-game, so with new games added, we put the stories for the "Revenge Of The King" and "Meta Knight Ultra" in the article.GENERALZERO (talk) 18:16, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Support I support the existence of the Kirby Super Star Ultra article 100%. Here's one reason why: Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland has its own article. Why doesn't this game have it's own article then? It has more content than the original Super Star than Nightmare in Dreamland did with Adventure.--76.173.139.63 (talk) 21:35, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose. In a KSSU article, we couldn't discuss gameplay (save for new gameplay found in the new modes), the plots of the new modes, development, and reception. Basically, you'd be hurting the FA potential of KSS to make an article that won't be big enough to even make GA. And in response to NiD, NiD was a brand new game built from the ground up. You can discuss its gameplay because its gameplay isn't the same, it's a different engine. KSSU's an enhanced port - CTDS has new subplots, does that need an article? And why is there a poll on my talk page? - A Link to the Past (talk) 01:39, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Call of Duty - World at War DS
Hello there. They're not actually the same game, I took my lead from the Call of Duty 4 article, of which the NDS version is split into a separate article (Call_of_Duty_4:_Modern_Warfare_(handheld_game)) as it contains a completely different storyline, levels, etc. I assume this will also be the case with World at War. Thanks! Fin©™ 20:16, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
GH On Tour Decades
I don't think that any specific unreleased GH game is putting a block to the GH FTC from completing - it's just that all of the future games needed a PR (even for a stub like Decades) as well as the GH3 song list passing the FLC (which is still going). We still would need to later bring a Decades article to the FTC, so there's no reason to hide that fact now and only be prepared to demonstrate that it reached GA shortly (3 months) after its release to keep the FTC. --MASEM 03:55, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Burden of proof
To use AVGN as a source, you'll need to demonstrate conclusively that it is subject to editorial oversight. "Prove that it isn't!" is insufficient. Generally, the way to do this is to find a editorial statement somewhere associated with it. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 02:03, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

MASH merges
You have proposed the deletion of a large number of medium-importance character is continuing episodes of the gtanchise. According to deletion policy, it would be better to do a merge to a suitable place, such as Characters of the MASH franchise. I do not immediately see any suitable page, so I leave it to you to start one, and then merge the material, including the appropriate parts of the content from the major articles, and leaving redirects from the existing articles. Deletion is a last resort--if a merge is impossible, there is still the method of a redirect. You of course do not have to follow my advice, but i suuggst it wouldl be better to do it this way than to fight every one of them at AfD, which wil be the alternative. In the meantime, I have deprodded them. 08:34, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

AVGN
A flash-in-the-pan internet 'celebrity' shouldn't have say in an international work of truth and knowledge. I'll accept his opinion in ~3 years if/when he is a household name.
Just because wikipedia is mostly edited and contributed to by the internet generation don't mistake that to mean that internet celebrities are considered sources of encyclopaedic knowledge. AVGN
Firstly my apologies for not signing my last post, by the time I realised a bot or some-such had already corrected my oversight.
Perhaps the phrasing in my last message was not the best. I don't mean to say that with popularity comes validation of opinion. The AVGN is a character. He is one man's interpretation of mass entertainment; if the actor (I don't know his name off hand) who plays the AVGN presented his opinions and ideas on the video game market in his own words and his own style do you think he could be the celebrity he is today? Certainly not. Characters like the AVGN play to a certain audience, the kind that consumes anything online as irrefutable fact.
My punctuation and grammar may be off tonight, hard day at work, sorry. 79.78.23.79 (talk) 20:55, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

A plea from WikiProject Media franchises coordinator
Dear A Link to the Past...I am writing today to ask for your participation in WikiProject Media franchises. You seem to have some interest in it, since you took the time to stop by and discuss the naming convention. It is just Emperor and me at the moment, and we could really use some additional editors to help us get articles identified as ones for the projects attention and assessed as such or written from scratch. Even if your only involvement is to keep an eye on what we are doing as a liaison from another project, that would be extremely helpful. I do not know everything there is to know about all the naming conventions, infoboxes, etc from the other projects, so I would love to have a core group of editors to help me coordinate this better. So, if you are willing to spend a little time with this project and help me figure out just how far and wide this project could, should, or would be; I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you. LA (If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page.) @ 07:42, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop
I was unaware of the previous consensus against a separate page for this game. That being said, the consensus was based on the little information that was released about the game leading people to believe it was just another port. Since then, more information has been released proving that this game is unique and deserves its own page. If you still wish to merge my page (which contains all the new information) then have a new consensus that dispells the updated version. IF, after that consensus passes against the article, then add ALL of the information to the wii section of the original Dead Rising article, which would make it too long and violating Wikipedias page guidelines. Basically, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop deserves its own page. If you wish to merge it, make a proposal before you take it upon yourself to delete encyclopedic information.

Zero Suit Samus
Zero Suit Samus only appeared in 3D in SSBB, right ? If that's right, I'll stop changing the image. You know, I'm not a Metroid series player, and I only met Samus on SSBB. Although, there are numerous Nintendo characters I met in this game that I never heard about them before. The only Nintendo series I play is the Mario series. I will not change the image anymore, because I understand, because I know that an image of Mario as he appears in SSBB wouldn't be acceptable for a main image in Mario's main image. Anyway, is adding the image of Zero Suit Samus in SSBB without replacing the other one would be ok ? What do you think ? If you remove it again, I won't put it back.
PS: Sorry for my long discourse.

Ike categorization
See Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects, under the fifth case listed. Categorizing a redirect to a subsection of a list page is in perfect accordance with categorization guidelines. More to the point, it makes sense in this case, since Super Smash Bros. fighters is a category of very definite membership and should not be left incomplete due to Ike not having a separate article about him right now. (The other category does not make sense to put on the redirect, as the list pages are the Fire Emblem character articles, not Ike specifically.)
Anyway, have a good evening. --tjstrf talk 03:17, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Because his character is a member of the classification, so it should go in the category. If the list article doesn't discuss the role, then I'd suggest that be fixed. Or better still, that someone gather the necessary references to write a page on Ike that doesn't get deleted.
- But whatever, I don't particularly care myself, I just noticed the edit on my watch list and that you apparently weren't aware the redirects were meant to be categorized under certain circumstances. --erachima talk 05:16, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Punch-Out
I did not write the stragety info on the previous article and have not deleted anything from the current article. I've only added relevant info left out of the merge, descriptions of appearance, mannerisms, and BOXERs favourite moves. These characters are not Bowser, they are BOXERS, that is the main focus of their character and involvement in the games is BOXING, so some mention of their boxing style is totally warranted as long it is presented properly. Stating primarily what games and media the character appears with no other information at all, is not what video game character bios are all about. I know you have put work into this article and so have I. The Glass Joe Taunt Punch text is perhaps too descriptive and has been removed. I suggest you read the rest of the article before reverting. I have added much more than just descriptions of boxing moves, so let me know specifically what additions you have problems with and we can reach a resolution. It is unfair to just revert and ignore all of the hard work and changes made. I am not sure if it is you who does not want the specific character links, but I would like to hear the arguement as to why they cannot be in there, especially if multiple wiki sites link specifically to them. Cheers. pretzolio (talk) 20:38, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Howdy, please let me know what you think I am removing from the article? I did not delete any of your text from the original merge. Is there something I am missing between versions, please let me know and I can add it. I did rearrange some of the sections as I believe the video game listings should go first. Also in the character bios I placed all of the media appearances in the first paragraph; and most of the character descriptions and other interesting notes in the second (if they have two). I realize you have done a lot of work creating this 'series' page, and we can work together on this as long as we know exactly what we disagree on. pretzolio (talk) 20:49, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- I just recieved your last message and I believe this article does fit within the guidelines :
"Detailed instructions: Saying that a character can jump, shoot, and drop bombs is helpful to understand the game, but avoid explaining button combinations or cheat codes."
- This is fine, is says what a character can do, and no longer says anything about combinations. This could even suggest that more boxing move/style related info could be added.
"Strategy guides and walkthroughs: Basic strategy concepts are helpful to understand the game, but avoid details about how to solve puzzles and defeat certain foes."
- There is no longer any info on how to defeat any foes or solve anything. Basic strategy is pretty much non-existant too.
"Excessive fictional details: A concise plot summary is appropriate to cover a notable game, character, or setting. Information beyond that is unnecessary and should be removed, as articles should focus on the real-world elements of a topic, such as creation and reception."
- The focus is on real world elements, as all bios contain this in the first lines and/or paragraph. The only detailed plot would be in the Little Mac bio, taking directly from the comic books. Other info tidbits are very concise.
You seem to be under the impression that because these people are in a real profession, they should be treated as if they were real people. That's NOT how Wikipedia works, that'd be like saying a fictional director's works should be mentioned if a real director's works are.
- These are video game characters whose main relevance and character trait is that they are boxers. No love stories, evil plots or major storylines. So pretty much the main relevant info we can give on them other than which media they appear in, is their boxing style and information on that has been greatly reducedpretzolio (talk) 21:00, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

re:Red/Blue/Yellow
I disagree. Just because a section is a bit too small does not mean that we can add in irrelevant information. Pokémon Yellow is not even mentioned until after the reception section, so it would make no sense to include reception info on Yellow before the game is even mentioned. Artichoker[talk] 02:23, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- The reception section goes before enhanced remakes of the game; it flows much better that way. Besides it appears that your only reason for wanting to combine the reception of all the games is because the section is too small. Much better would be to simply expanded it with more info on the original games, which I know is possible and would do myself if I had enough time. Artichoker[talk] 20:23, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

You seem as popular as ever :) Neways, I know ur plenty familiar with general practices and such. But i had noticed you removed the above category from several pages. You are right, those pages were in fact redirects, however when categorizing redirects we don't typically forbid them from appearing in "non-redirect" categories. This is because, for example, when a user is looking at Category:Super Smash Bros. fighters, they would be confused to see something like List of Pokémon (1-20) as an entry. From WP:CAT-RD:
- Categorization of list entries – Some well-organized lists have redirects pointing at their subsections. In such cases, categorization of the redirects can be an alternative way of browsing entries in a long list. It can also provide an alphabetical listing for lists that are not organised alphabetically, for example, lists organised in a chronological order. Redirects to sections of minor character lists should generally only be categorized within that fictional setting, and not in the wider fictional categories.
- Examples:
- Category:EastEnders characters provides a single alphabetical listing of both minor and major characters in the BBC soap-opera EastEnders. However, the minor character redirects should not be categorised outside the EastEnders category structure, eg. not Category:Fictional characters by occupation.
- Category:Middle-earth horses provides a single alphabetical listing of both named horses and named ponies in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.
- Examples:
- Categorization of list entries – Some well-organized lists have redirects pointing at their subsections. Vandalism accusations
I dopn't know what your problem is, whether it stems from only editing video game articles or not, but do not accuse me of vandalism when I have done no such thing. I would advise you to re-read that policy very carefully. Your attempts at justifying inclusion of an empty infobox based on what you are going to add are nonsense, much like the rest of your policy interpretations. In case you didn't know, we have a sandbox available for you to mess around in before you are ready to make serious edits that actually add to an article. MickMacNee (talk) 01:54, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. I can actualy see why you would want to add an empty infobox to the article, as it condenses the first (of two) paragraphs so that it looks longer. Seriously, who do you think you are kidding here? I have never seen a more stupid and pointless application of an infobox on any article anywhere on the entire encyclopoedia. MickMacNee (talk) 02:01, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
You seriously better wind your neck in. So far, you've falsely accuse me of vandalism, and now you are claiming I have some Muslim interest. I would love to hear your proof for these accusations. (well, the first one is patently false if you actually knew the vandalism policy, but whatever, it doesn't seem to make much difference in your case what a policy says). 02:16, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:GunpeyDS.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:GunpeyDS.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
