St Brendan-Shaw College is an Australian Catholic college for students in grades 7-12. It is located in Devonport on the North-West Coast of Tasmania in Australia. The college has around about 600 students.
College Houses
The College has four Houses:
Dillon (Green)
Head of House- Rosalie McDonald
Noone knows what Dillon is named after.
Griffin (Blue)
Head of House- Anton Bezemer
Griffin win everything. This is because everyone in the Griffin house have house spirit and therefor dont usually fit in very well socially. The Griffin block is situated behind the Lyons block at the far eastern end of the school. It is also the most southern building in the school. The building is the oldest and worst in the school, It is cold and boring and all the walls have been painted a dull blue and beige colour wich realy sets the mood in the classrooms. One factor that stands out is that all the year 7 classrooms are situated in the Griffin building. It also houses the science labs. All in all Griffin is a pretty crap house and probably the worst house to be placed into.
Lyons (Red)
Head of House- Peter Stubbs.
Lyons is named after Tasmania's first and only Prime Minister, Joseph Lyons.
As of late (post 2006) Lyons have had a bit of a bad stint with all forms of competition including the swmming, athletics, any form of charity and almost everything else. This is probably due to the lack of participation from students who just dont seem to have any house spirit at all.
MacKillop (Gold)
Head of House- Gavin Hicks
Nothing to say about Mackillop. Probably named after Mary Mackillop.
