Shimsk (Template:Lang-ru) is an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Shimsky District of Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located on a highway connecting Velikiy Novgorod and Pskov, 48 km south-west of Velikiy Novgorod. Another road connects the settlement to Staraya Russa. Shimsk lies on Shelon River, approximately 10 km upstream the point where it drains into the Lake Ilmen. Population: 3,842 (2002 Census); 3,992 (1989 Census). A number of mineral water sources, notably the ones near Uspolon village, are located nearby.
