The following is a list of cryptids and relicts, those animals studied under the field of cryptozoology. Their presumptive existence is often derived from anecdotal or other insufficient scientific evidence.

All animals on this page are marked as one of the following:

  • extinct (presumptive) — those animals which once existed, but are now presumed extinct.
  • verified (animal name) — those animals once thought to be cryptids but whose existence has now been verified.

  • unidentified — those cryptids with little evidence either way.
  • local legend — those cryptids whose existence is attested by local sightings.
