Geography

Shahrasti is located at 23°13′20″N 90°57′00″E / 23.2222°N 90.9500°E / 23.2222; 90.9500 . It has 31212 units of house hold and total area 154.31 km².

Demographics

As of 1991 Bangladesh census Template:GR, Shahrasti has a population of 180643. Males constitute are 48.59% of the population, and females 51.41%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 84718. Shahrasti has an average literacy rate of 43% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[1]

Shahrasti has 9 Unions/Wards, 164 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 176 villages.

Chariara and Waruk are some of the larger villages in Shaharasti.
