Paul worked for various oil-related companies in the city as a secretary before joining BBC Radio Aberdeen (an opt-out of [[BBC Radio Scotland]]) as a newsroom assistant. She later progressed to become a reporter and a travel & weather announcer.

Cheryl Paul is a Scottish broadcast journalist, currently working with STV North.

Paul was born in Staffordshire and lived in the county for nine years. She later moved to Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands where her parents ran Kincraig House Hotel in the town.
