*Wikipedia:Copyrights#Linking_to_copyrighted_works is one reason why your edits were removed. Youtube, in certain cases, is not a reliable source to bank your proof on. Unless you can find a suitable source alleging the "misleading film" (A well-known TV critic noticing this would be acceptable, provided other editors can verify it), your edits will be reverted and you may incur possible further warnings, which may possibly lead to you being banned from Wikipedia. --293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 11:35, 29 November 2008 (UTC) |

If you read the policies on reliable sources, you will find that YouTube is not considered a reliable source. Aside from that, you're making a contentious statement that the show "fakes" their laps. Something like that needs a good, reliable source to be a valid inclusion in the article. (sorry, "controversial" was a word choice of the template, not necessarily myself). :*Nope, no connection to the other user (and I would hardly call his/her message 'threatening'; they merely pointed out a possible course of events and blocking was the very last thing). |
|||
:*Anyway, if the video was published by the BBC, that's ok. However, drawing conclusions from it could still constitute original research. Take a look through that policy if you would. I know it can be tough to start out around here (I think most of my original edits were actually original research too), but once you get the hang of the policies, you'll get a sense for what is likely to be accepted and (most importantly) why. |

:*On the topic of the footage, I'm actually not too surprised if they show a compilation of footage. It's a TV show after all, I doubt they get perfect shots every time they try. Come to think of it, if the final lap is a "good one", that might actually make it a bit dull, no? Obviously Jeremy needs something to talk about during the segment. And it's not like the footage choices affects the result time, which is the most pertinent thing, wouldn't you agree? |

:*Hope you stick around! DP76764 (Talk) 18:45, 29 November 2008 (UTC) |

::While your edits would be in Good Faith, please do note that some editors will see your edits, if they persist in the vein of trying to introduce unsupported facts, to be possible disruptive editing and you could get nicked. It's a fair warning that needs to be said. It's not offensive, it's the rules of Wikipedia. --293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 11:14, 30 November 2008 (UTC) |
