Re: Images

I'd be more than happy to help. Let's just say I want to put Image:Hurricane Floyd 14 sept 1999 2030Z.jpg on my user page. I could just type [[Image:Hurricane Floyd 14 sept 1999 2030Z.jpg]]. The result of just doing this (which is shown here, BTW) is messy, though. This is why it is best to thumbnail the image. To do this, I type [[Image:Hurricane Floyd 14 sept 1999 2030Z.jpg|thumb]]. This is the result:

If I want it thumbnailed to the left, rather than to the right, I type [[Image:Hurricane Floyd 14 sept 1999 2030Z.jpg|thumb|left]]. The result of this is shown below.

Now let's just say I want to add a caption to the image. Let's also just say I want to make the caption "i am crud." For thumbnailing it to the right, I type [[Image:Hurricane Floyd 14 sept 1999 2030Z.jpg|thumb|i am crud]]. for thumbnailing the image and caption to the left, I type [[Image:Hurricane Floyd 14 sept 1999 2030Z.jpg|thumb|left|i am crud]]. Thumbnailing the image and caption tho the right produces this:

Re: straight lines

You know about the key that produces \ ? Hold down the shift key while typing the \ key to produce the straight line that separates jpg and thumb when you BTW, what is your favorite subject?
