Help needed restoring a worthy deleted list
Since the list of anarchists article was deleted on the grounds of poor referencing, a few of us have been working on a sandboxed version at User:SwitChar/Anarchlist, building it back up from scratch with rigourous referencing. The problem is that we are few, and the putative anarchists we need to vet and find references for are many. We could really use some extra hands sorting through the potential additions here here, finding references for their being anarchists and adding their names with a brief description to the sandboxed version. If you could help, it would be really appreciated. On behalf of the Anarchism task force, the skomorokh 15:16, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- That article can be launched anytime and put the list of those needing sources on the talk page to encourage only sourced entries are added. It's one of the better sourced lists. -- Banjeboi 00:38, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm amused that there's an organized effort to work on anarchism articles. ¬_¬ - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire - past ops) 05:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Is it just me?
When I first placed those dashboard counters on top - __ articles tagged for rescue, ___ articles tagged for deletion - there we 600-800 AfD articles; then 1300 and now it's over 2000. What's going on? -- Banjeboi 18:37, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- It's probably an increase in articles being AfD'd, but also a backlog in AfDs being closed. I see a lot of relisting for lack of comments. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 18:46, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Yonsei (fourth-generation Nikkei)
I don't think that Yonsei (fourth-generation Nikkei) needs rescuing, nor do I think it's a credible subject for an AfD thread. Nevertheless, it has been nominated; and my strategies for mitigating inflammatory rhetoric are likely to prove ineffective. If the ARS intervention can avert an evolving dispute in which drama overwhelms WP:V, that would be a welcome step in a constructive direction. --Tenmei (talk) 21:14, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Looking over that article, I see you've got at least two sources which appear to meet WP:RS that use the term. I would call that adequate, but other editors might disagree. Furthermore, I'm not the best person to provide input, since I don't follow ethnicity-related AfD's very often. The best answer I've found for any AfD is to keep adding sourcing and footnoting. Other editors are far more impressed by "But it's notable!" and a demonstration of effort than a "But it's notable!" argument alone. Jclemens (talk) 21:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- I've tagged it for rescue. It's quite developed and likely more complex than just a delete or save issue. My hunch would be to look at Google books and Google scholar for sourcing. -- Banjeboi 13:38, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
