In grades 10 and 11, courses such as mathematics and science are offered at three levels - "enriched", "academic" and "applied". Academic level courses prepare students who are thinking of attending university, while applied level courses teach practical topics, and are for students who want an education in college. Enriched is a new level that was added recently, and it is for students who are not satisfied with academic courses and have strong interest in learning. In grades 11 and 12, academic level becomes university level, while applied level becomes college level. While the general distinction remains, some courses are only offered at the university level, such as geometry and algebra. Students who have graduated from Bloor Collegiate Institute go into all kinds of different post-secondary education. The [[University of Toronto]] is the biggest target for graduating students.

Sports

The "Bears" do not sport a fabulous athletics program, although they have been somewhat successful in Boys Volleyball off and on. But this is arguably due in large part to the reclassification of Bloor C.I. as a A/AA school instead of a competitive AAA or AAAA school.

Clubs and teams

Bloor C.I. is also home to many teams and clubs. This includes social justice committee, anime club, art club, basketball team, chess club, debate club, Ecoteam, environmental club, soccer team, web designing club, hit the pavement, and many others. History

In the 1970s, the school fielded sports teams in football, soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball, rugby, cross-country running, track and field, and archery. Teams competed in the "bantam" level (grade nine students), the "junior" level (grades 10 and 11 students), and the "senior" level (grades 12 and 13 students).
