Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez was the original drummer for the E Street Band. He left the band in 1974 after being asked to resign. In recent years, he and his new band Steel Mill Retro have performed songs originally written by Bruce Springsteen for his early band Steel Mill. Lopez has recently written a memoir concerning his time with Springsteen and the E Street Band.
