Maeve Higgins (born in Cobh, County Cork, Ireland) is an Irish comedienne. She is well known for being a principal actor / writer of the RTÉ production Naked Camera. She has a regular slot on The Ray D'Arcy Show on Today FM called "What would Maeve do?" [1], which provides humorous advice to listeners questions.

Schooldays

Higgins attended Walterstown Primary School and the nearby Vocational school.

During an appearance on RTÉ 2fm's Countdown to 606 (which aired on June 8 2007), she spoke of having completed her Leaving Certificate in 1998. In the Leaving Cert Memory Lane feature, she claimed she "still can't count her change" after doing Foundation Maths. She did Honours Irish, despite panicking on the day, and also liked English. She chose German over French, but wished she had done Spanish (which was not available in her school). She did Home Economics and, on the show, successfully answered one of the questions that had appeared on the 2007 examination paper that day. She said she had no idea she was going to be a comedian at the time. She advised students not to worry.

She appeared at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with fellow Irish comedian David O'Doherty in a children's comedy entitled "I Can't Sleep" [2].
