Paul was born in [[Staffordshire]] and lived in the county for nine years. She later moved to [[Invergordon]] in the [[Scottish Highlands]] where her parents ran Kincraig House Hotel in the town. Paul attended Invergordon Academy until she was sixteen when she started working in her parents' hotel. Cheryl Paul is a Scottish broadcast journalist, currently working with STV North.

Born in Staffordshire, she moved to Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands aged 9 where her parents ran a hotel. After attending Invergordon Academy she joined the family busiess. Aged 19, she married Nick, an offshore oil IT specialist, moved to Aberdeen[1] and worked as a secretray for oil-related companies.
