Storylines

Arrival and Ambition

Brooke Freeman initially came to Shortland Street as a locum GP after Toni Warner's death. She is only recently qualified, but gives every impression of being competent, confident and ambitious. The truth is that Brooke finds general practice a chore, and sometimes struggles to maintain her professional façade. However, she wants the experience on her CV and is resigned to part-time GP work for a few more years, while she completes her GP consultancy training and specialises in dermatology.Brooke plans to one day open her own cosmetic clinic - and make some serious money. She works alongside Callum McKay and TK Samuels in the Primary Care Clinic (the PCC).

Relationship with Chris Warner

Shortly after joining the team at Shortland Street, Brooke caught the attentions of both Kip Denton and Chris Warner. She went on dates with both before eventually choosing Chris, she later moved into his house. However, she felt her romance with Chris was hampered by his son, Harry who took a instant dislike to her. The relationship eventually unravelled and Brooke turned to old lover Dr Ethan Pierce for comfort.

Relationship with Ethan

Despite dating Chris she continued to see Ethan who she professed to love. Brooke originally dated Ethan pre-2008 but not long after arriving in Ferndale they reignited their relationship until she dumped him in favour of Chris. It was later revealed that they continued sleeping together despite brooke's relationship with Chris and Ethan's with Alice.

Who Killed Ethan?

In December 2008 was shot by an unidentified assassin (later revealed to be Maia Jefferies). Brooke has since been questioned by the cops and currently remains a suspect in Ethan's murder.
