"On Our Own" is a song by Bobby Brown recorded in April 1989 and released in May 1989 for the Ghostbusters II soundtrack. It peaked at #1 and #2 on the US Billboard R&B chart and the Billboard Hot 100, respectively. It also peaked at #4 in the UK Singles Chart. Its cultural significance ranged from its strong video presence to its ability to make youngsters feel they had a certain power against ghosts if only they could break out the appropriate dance moves.[original research?]
Music video
The video was filmed in early June 1989 and released later that month. The video features several guest appearances by celebrities including Christopher Reeve, Donald Trump, Rick Moranis, and Jane Curtin. Additionally, during the course of the video, there are scenes from Ghostbusters II, interspersed with various famous New York City locations such as the Trump Tower, World Trade Center, and Plaza Hotel.
