Droylsden Football Club of Conference North are based in Manchester, only a few miles from neighbours, FA Premier League side Manchester City.


After finishing 2nd in the Conference North's Inagural Season (04/05), Droylsden will be looking go one better and reach the top tier of non-league football for the first time in their history.


Malcolm Glazer's takeover at Manchester United has led to the recent formation of a new Manchester club, F.C. United of Manchester. After initial discussion with Droylsden's chairman (himself a Man Utd fan) about a possiblty of F.C. United playing at Droylsden's ground, nothing became forthcoming and F.C. United will now begin their first season playing at Bury's Gig Lane.
